just came out of the BEST game of TAO ive ever played.
on banff, against komar, who was ranked 1159, grey.
started off him taking my scout somewhat quicker than id have liked, and then rushing me with all knights to attack my clerics. after a long battle of his knights vs anything i could muster, he killed both of my clerics, my DMW and my BW, but lost his 3 knights in the process.
the teams now stood at:
Me : 3 knights, 1 assassin, LW (all full life)
Him : 1 Scout, 1 Cleric, 1 BW, 1 LW, 1 Chanty, 1 Witch.
he moved his DMW onto a flank, but within the BWs range. i moved the threatened knight back just enough so that in order to hit it, the DMW would move out of BWs range.
the main conflict however, was on the other side of the arena, he began to move his chanty + scout forward, both relatively protected by his LW. when it was within range, my assassin went and had a go at his chanty. obviously she paralysed it, and barriered the chanty with the scout + LW blocking the path to the BW. i advanced on the other side and hit his witch, while moving a knight through to attack the BW. my assassin was killed by his scout at that point, so i moved in on the cleric and hit it. he used his witch to take one of my knights life down to 9, but one of my other knights then killed the witch.
now came the tough part, 3 knights (2 full life, one with 9) vs a scout, a chanty, a damaged cleric and a LW (my knight had killed the BW by this point). his scout killed my 9 life knight immediately. but the LW was still cooling down. he ran his cleric towards the LW, with the scout covering one side and the chanty sitting behind them. my knight knights were ready, and his cleric still had 4 turns recovering. i moved in one knight and hit the chanty. he moved her away and paralysed that knight. he was then foolish enough to attack with the scout, meaning it had enough recovery for my other knight to be able to sweep in and finish the chanty. giving me 2 knights vs damaged cleric, scout and LW.
the ward hit my knight, his scout attempted to run, but superior timing meant i killed it anyway. the cleric healed itself, the LW finished my damaged knight, but not before it hit the cleric, meaning my other knight was able to sweep in and finish it off while the LW recharged.
and THAT, is how i beat rank 1159 banff grey komar. now, im off to celebrate
