Ent - Beast Fighter
Stats:
Hit Points: 55
Power: 0
Armor: 30%
Movement Range: 2
Recovery Time: 4 (2 for move only, 3 for attack only)
Special Abilities:
Unblockable
Cannot block
Attack Pattern:
Uses a melee attack that throws the unit it is attacking 3 squares away. The throw counts as a teleport move so it does not have to be a clear path. However, if the 3rd space is occupied it cannot be thrown in that direction.
The unit being thrown has a +1 recovery(equivalent to being paralyzed for 1 turn) from being stuned from the throw.
n=areas unaffected
t=throwing path
u=targeted unit
e=ent
a=spaces it can initiate attack at

I changed the power to zero and added the +1 recovery time to the attacked unit. I hope ya'll like it better now.
If you like this unit, also go check out my Banshee and Vampire ideas in my other thread. Thanks.

It has to have some power. Being thrown that many squares will definately do some damage. Maybe lower to 10?

How about just +1 Recovery for target instead?

Because that's not the point of the unit. The 3 space throw and power of no less than 10 is staying. Perhaps +4 recovery, or lower it to 50 hps?

The point of the unit is to protect things right o0 not do damage o0

Yes it is to defend...but there are already plenty of units that paralyze. The point of this is to move ur opponents unit in the opposite direction. The benifit of this is that you could move your opponent in range of your lightening rod and zap him the next turn. The throw doesn't effect the recovery time of the unit being thrown.

I edited the recovery time and hit points.

The reason for the +1 recovery time for the target was so there would be * at least 1 turn* where the unit could be hit *before* it could move again.

I know what you meant....you're still not getting my point, but whatever. Anyone else have any thoughts?

But they use ents in Warcraft III

Maybe they bought a license to the name from LOTR. Anyway, I think that the Ent or tree herder or whatever shouldn't have a power, it's powerful enough already as a defensive unit. The +1 recovery would also be good, sense that would leave the unit vulnerable to be attacked by whatever you threw it too.

one of the best ideas i've heard so far. nice and original (sorry everyone else). I think the ent should do minimal damage, since it probably couldn't reach a witch or a pyro to throw it into the lightning ward. Everyone should remember that most units dont die when they get zapped, and a low-blocking high-recovery unit like this shouldnt be that hard to put away. How about 2-turn if it moves only instead of 1? That would keep it from killing off most magic users.
...i just changed my mind, it shouldnt do damage (like 5 at the most, which is pretty much pointless) but maybe higher blocking? and i still say the move recovery should be 2.

when you throw the unit it should affect blocking. A knight on its butt couldn't really use a shield could it?

yeah bob, the knight is really gonna keep on sitting down all game, huh? oh yeah... and learn how to spell schizophrenic before you use that sig. Better yet, don't use it at all.

No, what is it doing on the extra turn it needs to recover? brushing off dirt? It would only have changed blocking for one or 2 rounds.

After thinking about it, I like the idea of having the unit being thrown kinda stuned afterwards. I know I'd be a little dazed if I just got tossed by a giant tree. :) hehe. Unit being attacked is paralyzed for one turn afterwards. I think now it's a perfectly balanced unit.
