First of all comments on Demon.
One, you damned well know how to use a barrier ward, when it shines. Late game.
Two, you know how to keep your units alive. Even without a cleric. DAMN THAT WARD. lol.
Three... wow. Your very well thought out, and can see a few turns ahead in the future. I dont care if your record doesnt sing, its probably because you seek out golds to fight. Of course, you said you have a 70+ win record off of some other server.
It started out as we were both heavy side concentrated... on the wrongs sides for eachother. I was three knights, dragon, 2 archers, a frosty, and a lightning ward.
He was lightning ward, enchantress, barrier ward (wonder what combo he wished i gave him a chance to use? ;) ), 3 knights, DMW an archer, a pyro, and assassin.
I spent early game on a give him multiple targets so he spreads the damage around, and kill off the cleric kinda way. Dragon was sent tele'ing in, first to kill dark witch, and setup for tele and kill on cleric. He immediately went on a semi hurt himself paralyze on dragon and a few of his own units, and had my dragon beaten down to a bloody pulp. Well, dead bloody pulp.
I managed a cleric kill by tossing an archer around to get a kill that forced him to think about leaving dragon near dead, or defend his cleric. he killed the dragon, i thought i had a fairly good advantage the rest of the game.
Not particularly. I'd killed off his pyros, and knocked a few hits on a knight and assassin (one arrow each i believe) and killed the enchantress. I decide since I have health, go for the attack and when i have recover with no other units able to join in, heal. He makes some tremendous tactical use out of his barrier ward, making me cycle between what units I can hit and not, so I never get one true clean *hit hit kill* on any unit.
My go offensive choice was my worse choice. Not a horrible error, but it got tense. We end the game in a knight cleric mine vs knight archer, knight semi hurt to him.
I get a kill on his archer, taking a lightning ward to the knight to get it. He tries to move his knight to hit cleric, but im out of range. Next turn is a heal to bring knight up to 16, his knight at 33, and he hits cleric once to bring cleric to an 8, i lightning ward him to bring him to 15, and we call it a draw.
This was some tense stuff. blocks were about even (for once). I never felt block screwed, but I definitely missed some ones that could have been really critical and made overwhelming defeat/win to his part. If my dragon blocked once, that would have been one. If knight late game could have, that would have been two. But, he could say same things... if his archer would have blocked, it could have become a knight archer vs. my knight.
A really great game... so incredibly tense.
Immediately after the game SPEEDSTER calls me a pussy for not taking a challenge on him after citing im burnt out. I told him raincheck ;)
And i get a game with kospades later today....
Whew. My record might burn for this.
