Well...this was certainly an odd game i must say.
started off a pretty fast paced game, his knight got 3 side blocks which saved its life. i killed his witch + a pyro at the cost of my chanty early on. he did a big rush, and with some lucky blocking he took out my cleric and 2 knights.
a pretty fast paced section of the game whittled the teams down to this:
Me : 2 knights (1 full life, 1 15 life) a witch (6 life) a scout (11 life) 2 wards and an assassin (all full)
Him : a pyro, scout, 3 knights, cleric, LW and assassin (all full life!)
we continued to pound at each other, i had a small amount of luck in scoring a front hit on his knight with my assassin, after beating it up with a LW and witch attack, which killed it.
i forget what happened next, but it wound up my assassin on 16 life vs 2 knights (1 full, 1 on about 14), he had a cleric too, we both had LWs and i had a BW on 14 life.
my form has the bw positioned so it creates a nice little hole for a unit, where that unit can only be attacked from one side, and if an enemy tries to attack from that side they are in LW range. i put my assassin into this hole and sat there. i scored another lucky hit, killing his injured knight.
after a LONG bout of me running around my LW, trying to get him in range, i had whittled his last knight down to 29 life, then i lured him with my assassin onto the edge of the board, which he fell for, and tried a front attack which my assassin blocked. i then got a side hit on his knight, taking it down to 15 life, with my LW ready to finish it off.
sounds like a win, but sadly, i couldnt win, because his cleric was next to his own LW, and my assassin only had 16 life, hence i would have to settle for a draw. or so i thought. when i had hit his knight with my assassin, and was ready to finish it with my ward next turn, he quit. even though id been saying it would be a draw. i was surprised. i think i deserved the win ultimately though, as he had quite a bit of luck, his knight got 6/8 side blocks, his scout got 2/3 side blocks, my knight got 1/5 side blocks and my scout 1/4 side blocks.
