The time frame for round 3 shall be Saturday August 14th until Tuesday August 17th (until 11:59 PM). Although this is a wider time frame, I'd suggest that people play their games ASAP to avoid the complications that arise when leaving games until the last minute.

I haven't been able to confirm whether or not Revelations is working properly again, so we'll continue to hold this tournament on Banff for the time being.

Well...First, legions clan mate jumped me to find out my setup...but that didnt stop me! I switched sides and what do you know...A one sided bomb to the side that I use to be on...to bad i switched...that will teach yous to cheat.

He ended up quitting when he had a knight and tyrant left...his knight was also frozen anyway so he had no chance.

Bad form!! This sort of underhanded behavior should be frowned upon more heavily.
Kudos for showing that superior skill and playing will always crush down those who just can't live up to it.

I'd like to see some sort of community reprecussions on this sort of thing. One thing to be a jumper in general, another entirely to conduct yourself in such a manner in official matches and tournies.

Well, seeing as how next round there will be 4 remaining teams, if one player from one of these teams was no longer able to play, it would be stupid and unfair to eliminate that entire team for several reasons:
1. It would mean there was a final 3, and we've all seen how well THOSE worked out in the past...
2. It would be punishing two other players/people for one player's misfortune at not being available... And thusly unfair to them to eliminate them.
3. The winning team's title of being the first team to win a Tag Team Tournament on TAO would be tainted by a team that had a good shot at winning being eliminated because of something like that.

Those are the main reasons, and for this, I believe that a substitution chosen by the team quickly would be in order.

If it occurs (has occured?) to one of the teams still playing this round, then the team with the unavailable player will be eliminated. Im sorry, but theres no other way to do it fairly.

And yes, Megabyte, I agree. But hopefully Draquist flawlessing him, and thusly probably losing the tournament for his team will "teach him a lesson."

That's too bad, as I was looking forward to a matchup with you guys. (Not that we were guaranteed to have a match, but still...)
It's also problematic as it means once again, someone gets a bye - at the semifinal level.
I would have no problems with you finding a substitution.

i think a sub plan should be in effect. Kinda blows the tourney now if half the groups get dropped.

Well this is a multiple day tourney? it was pretty popular too, you'd think teams would sign up with a sub...For a tournament to range this long without subs suprises me. Maybe in the future there can be subs that may change every round or none of the rounds if decided by their captain. Would have an emergency player in case no ones knows what happin to the mystery guy that joined your team last minuet.

You would also be able to include your friend that is a horrible player and you don't want to hurt his feelings :p Although, when you need to sub, you'll be out of luck...better than dropping out at least

I think if there were a tournament like this again, with the tag-team set-up, some additional rules are required. Such as:

-Teams consist of 4 people, but only 3 play in a round.
-Captains do not have to start each round, or even play at all, they are just the organizers for the team

And then of course something else to make sure there are no scheduling mix-ups.

I've come to realize that subs definitely need to be allowed. I don't think there is more than a team or two who hasn't needed one in some way in this tournament.

After discussing it with DR we have decided that subs are necessary to finish off this tournament. Otherwise, there will only be 2 teams left which seems quite ridiculous.

In the future I'll have to adjust some of the rules to make this style of tournament slightly easier.

I'll be putting up the brackets for Round 4 tonight! :)
