Who's in any type of ROTC program? I like to be in it, I'm in JROTC for High School. This is the first time we've attempted an ROTC program...I'm going to be a Lieutennant in a few weeks.

Wait, you will graduate from high school as a 2nd lieutenant? Most West Point graduates only achieve that rank after 4 years there. Quite impressive.
Hooah!

VT has an excellent Corps Cadet program. I have a few friends in it, and they say it's great. After the first semester of course. :)
The "no hazing" rule has very creative ways of being bent.

ROTC and especially JRRPTC ranks do not transfer to military rank. Most of the title have "cadet" before them to signify that.
And the programs are fun. I did not partake, but do do some training excerises with the ROTC army and air force cadets here at Ohio Univeristy.
My favorite are the war games. Both rural, and urban assault games tend to be quite fun.

No it doesn't transfer rank, but the longer you take the ROTC programs, the higher your rank you start off in when you get in the military.

Well, yes and no. If you finish the college level ROTC AND take the OTC training, THEN you will start off at a rank of an officer. But even with the ROTC, you must still qualify for officer school, and complete it.
You can get there directly without ROTC if you know how.

I was the Battalion Commander for my high school JROTC program, if you enlist after H.S. you can go in the army as an E-4 if you took JROTC. ROTC programs will let you be commissioned as a 2nd LT after graduating. This, in my personal opinion, is very bunk. To have some 22 year old punk that just graduated and has no idea of real life lead seasoned enlisted who may have spent 10 years in the service already is totally lame. I think you should only be able to take OTC after you have completed a mandatory enlisted service time.

if it is, im in the equivalent of army ROTC, if not, remove one vote from the army one.

Some of my upperclassmen friends like to do what they call hall-sharking. When freshman come into the halls, they are required to march at attention on the right side of the hallway. They are also required to do whatever a senior rank tells them.
So, I, a civilian, was standing in the hallway talking to my friends. We decided it would be funny to have me stand on a corner and on the right side. Sure enough, a new cadet comes by, and very nearly runs into me. For his sake, I'm glad he didn't, because he would have had a tough time for the next few weeks. Anyway, he stopped and had to ask who I was, in formal military style (sorry I don't remember the commands.) My friends introduced me as Dirty Great Bastard Upton. So, next came the question asking for permission to ask a question. Then, he actually asked the question, saying "May I get by?"
Now, I may not know very many military commands, but I am fairly certain that that was not allowed. So, I moved out of his way, and we told the next cadre (person whose job is to yell at new cadets) who walked by what he said. Immediately, he gave the dreaded double-knock on his door and bitched him out for a full five minutes. After it was all done, he went back, knocked four times (the regular knock) and said, mockingly, "May I come in?"
All the time we were laughing, and this poor guy was trying so hard not to crack a smile. It was great fun. :)

while that sounds funny, its also extremely harsh...
here in england the CCF only takes place on certain days and at events. in regular school and stuff, we can all act normally...

Reserve Officer Training Corps, if I'm not mistaken. The J stands for Junior.
