Banner bearer/musician

Hit Points : 35
Movement Range : 3
Recovery Time : 3
Attack Pattern :

Gives 1 unit upto 2 tiles away
-1 recovery time
and +1 speed
as long as he remains in focus (the unit should be able to move and attack as usual)

Sounds cool. Can he attack at all? Perhaps whack people with his banner/instrument?

ha ha ha or how about boosting up block percentage by 10%

It sounds powerful enough as it is. With a knight, -1 recovery is like....0. I'm so smart :D Anyway, no, I think he sounds pretty good as is, maybe with some minor tweaking. It's original; I like it.

That is an awesome idea, I played a bard in Everquest (musician) when i used to play; it is a very cool character type in that game, and with the stats you put in the post seems like it might be a good addition to this game as well.

as well as having a banner or instrument in one hand give him a dagger in other or a huge shield for like 80% blocking

maybe like 20% def. not 80%

The bannerbearer is not meant to be in combat...merely aiding its people. Yes it could use the blocking since pesky scouts are all over the place  but besides that this is a sweet charcter. And another idea, once he recovers he can "inspire" another unit as long as he doesn't move and the 1st unit that was 'inspired' will also continue to be 'inspired'.

P.S.-Of course if he loses focus both units would lose the 'inspiration'

hey im offended! my phalanx was a damn good balanced unit....dont be dissing on my baby...!!!....other than that i like the idea....leave it as it is....just a question...if a unit is affected by the banner unit...then leaves the range...does he keep the buff or is it more like an aurora?

I like the idea, it would be especially usefull if you are sending a mini army of assassins and knights to kill the cleric, bcause of no recovery time.

Yeah, 1 recovery units would get a big boost from that, and witchs and pyromancers would become more useful. Great unit!

I agree that there definately needs to be a unit that bands characters together to counterackt the pyros tendency to spread them apart. But maybe not in this way.:)

Yea, good idea! The thought of having a unit to bring your army together is a good addition to TAO. Keep it up!

I like the idea of a banner-bearer a lot more than a musician, musician reminds me too much about bards:(, which I happen to hate. For an attack, Club the enemy with the standard!, The Standard bearer needs some form of defence!
