He's too good, he can't be stopped god knows how he didn't win the French open but no one even comes near him, except maybe Agassi which I bet took so much drugs for that match that he was sweating them out.

he will become the greatest player of all time if it continues like that. Personally I hate how he dominates everything, I like a variety.

To conclude Federer pwns j00!

Yeah, but that still doesn't change the fact that it's tennis.

Yeah, it is just tennis.

I love ping pong. We have a table on the second floor of my dorm, and there is always a couple people playing.

Pool! Pool is the sport of gods. That and curling.

thrdflrmshr

As is billiards? I suck at pool. I can never hit it correctly, no matter how long or hard I try to line up the angle.

Snarr

In that case he could own you in pool too!

Exactly, seriously, who couldn't get into this game? It should be an international past time kind of sport.

thrdflrmshr
09-13-2004, 11:19 AM
Isn't that what it is? An international pasttime?

doubledown
09-13-2004, 11:48 AM
Its in the olympics so you cant call it just a pasttime

Snooker is good too. Also, a British chap won the US open boys tournament today, so watch out Federer... :)

I really really like to play pool, though I don't get to do it much often :(.

This curling business sounds fun... woe is me that I have no sister to bully into trying it :(.

GLAM! Your name is mud.

You can keep your tennis, your pool and your curling.

The one true sport is . . . . . .

Golf!

The thing about golf that fascinates me is that the smallest changes to your swing make the biggest differences to your shot.

Most of you will probably play golf in the later stages of life because you'll most likely have nothing better to do. I'm starting young, so I can pwn all j00 in a few decades time!

Going back to tennis...

Dementieva lost her match against another Russian, whose name just slipped my mind, due to injury that she has been struggling the whole time. No fair! :(

Roddick will realize that he is the best and start dominating again.

Ughhh! I couldn't believe it! I love Dementieva, how could she lose? Especially after beating Moresmo.

I got to say playing against Roddick or Johanson for that matter as well it just not fun, you keep getting winning services or aces on you. But with that type of power game he can only win on concreate or quick, on grass in wimbeldon or on soil in Rolland Garros he gets pwned. Federer just doesn't seem to be affected by terrain.

It's true that roddick is all power. And I've always liked Federer. He's very nice and all that. Roddick is just so hot! Agassi could have smashed them both when he was in his prime.

I'd like the point out that the only reason to watch women's tennis is for the women themselves, if you're into that kind of thing. Unless it's the Williams girls. I saw them play eachother once... that was really cool. :)

Gah!!! My name is NOT mud. Check your pm's.

Snarr, awe inspiring or not, I liked the other one better. *pout*

Are women tennis players the only one's in the world of sports who are allowed to be hot?

Snarr
09-13-2004, 03:53 PM
Swimmers are really hot too! Come thinking of it, the only girls I seriously dated were swimmers for some odd odd reason.

And beach volleyball, but not normal volleyball, ther eyou get big Bronhildas and Helgas who inflict pain on you.

Dementieva is REALLY good at tennis too.

I know!
Taking 6-0 twice in the final of a grand slam is not something you see every day. Hewit is such a fun player to watch play, him Federer and Agassi.

True....Federer is all that AND a bag of chips.

As he is Swiss, and since I'm living in Switzerland, I hear all about it. Every country has the tendency to praise their players more than they should be(you should have seen the sickening Martina Hingis phase), but this guy is ALL that.

He's from Basel, too...where I live.

It's about time that there was a dominate male tennis player...since Sampras went down, the men's game has been lacking anybody consistently good.

Hewitt has been out of his prime for so long it would have been nice to seem him win something nowadays. Everyone was up in arms about how good he was when he got to number one. He was like Australia's favourite son and then going out with Kim. He was the man. But after his performance dropped the only media coverage he got was bad. I'd love to see a comeback.

Also I own at pool. The boys and i all have pool comps. 3/4 of them have their own tables and I dont but i still come away undefeated.

i lived in a pub for 7 years so i know my way around a pool table pretty well. and im also a master at gambling machines.

however, if federer pwns j00s, does that mean that federer is also hitler, along with me and adolf? (if you dont get it, read omega paladins "walrus is hitler" thread from about 2 weeks ago)

Ah, yes. I too, only watch women's tennis for the women.

Much as I enjoy the game itself, it's just too distracting especially when Dementieva or Sharapova are playing.

I'd also like to say that I was watching tennis when Kournikova still played! Oh yes.... the glory days..

Snarr
09-14-2004, 12:32 PM
Doh stop talking about pool!

Dementieva almost matches Kournikova, and there is this other Russian player she's 17, maybe Punishment Co. can help me out here. It's always the Russian tennis players that are hot.

The women's game is better than the men's game not only for the looks, but the games are still not all about power. There's still interesting and entertaining technique involved.

That wasn't a she was scewed out of 3 fucking points on 1 game! I was SO SO SO pissed, it was pure and simple cheating. And its safe to say that had she won that game she would have won the tie break since Capriati was literali exhusted and could have not continued for 3 more games.

Yup, incidents like this is almost inevitable in a match. Unless the referee gets his hand on the camera that the tv shows if the ball was hit outside or not, the game will always have this misfortune. :(

The thing is, on the first miscall, the ball wasn't even on the line. If you can't make a call on that ball then you shouldn't be the umpire on a grand slam match. If there was one more miscall, it would of been alright, but 3 in the final game really make it seem like a conspiracy to the Williams family. It wasn't the fault of not having a camera.

I have to agree, the ball wasn't on the line, even I saw it on the TV from a crap angle.

And these mistakes happen once or twice per match, not 3 times on the decisive game. This smells fishy.

FEDERER SUXORS!!!

i have no basis to back that up...i just wanted to take the opposite stance of snarr

Snarr
09-15-2004, 05:33 PM
1. Federer, Roger (SUI)

1087

2. Roddick, Andy (USA)

647

3. Hewitt, Lleyton (AUS)

611

4 . Moya, Carlos (ESP)

484

5. Coria, Guillermo (ARG)

480

6. Henman, Tim (GBR)

432

7. Gaudio, Gaston (ARG)

383

8. Agassi, Andre (USA)

348

9. Safin, Marat (RUS)

317

10. Grosjean, Sebastien (FRA)

274

You'd notice that the point difference between Federer and Roddick is 440 which that alone is enough to sponsur another player ranked #5. I don't think that anyone before has had such a lead but this is just my opinion.
