Well, that isn't my fault.

Roody jumped all over me over a misunderstanding, then decided to try again even after he knew it was a misunderstanding.

The fact that he put pressure on me even after I had apologized to Thargor and for any latter misconceptions is not my fault at all. In fact, he's the only one that should be to blame.

I admitted to the one mistake, and yet you still seem content to jump all over me for it. Starting with Tephros--what did he possibly have to gain for calling me a prick over a comment left untouched for a whole week?

And what about Roody, who went picking through my comments and actually found fault in me trying to defend myself? There was actually no reason to keep picking on me, aside from my differences with Netjak, and in spite of these differences, I have (for the most part) been fair to its members.

Here's a summary of the last 2 pages of this thread, in less than 10 characters:

before you think that the rankings will now be off or not accurate, thargor set this up, hes just showing me how to do it :)

i just began learning how to do this earlier tonight nut by next update i should be able to make the rankings close to how thargor did

but untill then... netjak is #1 overall (with or without legends), jw is #2 (more than just rank number ;) ) and si is #3

I don't think Philly is retired; we played a couple of games just a month ago. Also, maybe sometimes Legends netjakkers borrow an FPS account to play on FPS when Legends is lagging or something.

Well, in all fairness, there is a good deal of stats that are misrepresented in the revelations server due to the Rev team. Netjak, having four high rated members in the clan, takes a hit from that . . .

I do the rankings on my site weekly as well (although I missed the weekend I was on vacation and did it days late), and thus pay attention to the rankings. I noticed a very interesting shift in the balance of power (and members) this time, though. While SI remains relatively unchanged, AK, BG, and Netjak have gone down severely, whereas AL and HA have shifted radically in the opposite direction. Incidentally, members have shifted between HA and AL, and regulars in several clans appear to be trading off. Incidentally, newer members are making it to the higher positions in the top 100, thus causing inflation, and creating "new generation" clans. I'd have to say over the last week, at least a quarter of the top 100 members on GL that remained for both weeks changed the status of their clans. The sudden changes amuse me, so I'm keeping tabs (although not very well when it comes own to in-depth records).

Try reading the rest of the quote first off, I said "Where you have been involved." Also, it doesn't take very many occurances to start a trend. In the last two months I can think of three instances where I jumped in.

The first was when Punisher from GL made his first post, saying hi, and people flamed the crap out of him for being new. The second was Realist, when he got massively flamed by many, many members for a mere spelling correction, and the third here. That is a trend, because those are all the injustices I've seen lately, but it doesn't constitute "over and over again."

Who said I was any champion of justice? I said I stick up for people when they are being bashed for no apparent reason. If you think that makes me annoying, fine, but those affairs ARE my concern. People having a decent time here without being flamed for idiotic reasons is something I like to see, therefore, when you flame someone for an idiotic reason, it becomes my concern.

I've never jumped into clan drama, or any private issue that doesn't involve open flaming for an unfounded reason.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how you got from point A to point B. Doing calculations and following point values takes little time and it would take less time for someone that keeps track of the clan rankings on his own. It takes a little time but it's far from having no life. I don't know the story behind the accusations and monitoring but seriously, how many hours a day could that take?

Another question: how many hours a day must one spend on something in particular to be classified as a person that has no life?

In my honest opinion, all this proves is I took some time to check the shift in rankings... A statgeek at worst, if that is indeed a negative trait.

Looks like someone else has been practicing the art of double-speak. I guess that's diplomacy though... Addressing someone's suspicions calmly to their face, then using them as a call to arms when they can be used against them.

If I had any intention of blacklisting any of your members, I would have done something like this (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18671), instead of contacting you privately with my concerns and asking you to look into it.

For the record, I don't even know yet if 180 proof is actually cheating, since I only have the circumstantial evidence provided by the player rankings and the fact that nobody believes whoever is using 180 is a 1640+ gold user. That's why I contacted only you and two other people asking to keep an eye out for the account 180 proof. Up until this point, I was discreet about my suspicions, out of respect for Hatchet Warrior and for his clan, and of course because he's innocent until proven guilty. Note that after your response, I did not take up the issue any further.

In summary...

Just like here, I disclosed what I believed occured based on what I saw, and got a response confirming/refuting it. Only this time you made it personal.

Based on first-hand knowledge, I'd say it takes about five minutes, tops, to compare a member's clan status from one week ago to their clan status now, then subtract their respective ranks from 101. It takes about five seconds to view a person's name and clan from Sept. 16, then click on another window and view a person's name and clan from Sept. 23. It takes even less time to /stat a person's name and see their clan in-game, if you know which clan they were in the week before. It takes about five times as long as the entire procedure here took to do one week's worth in clan rankings for four servers manually, yet nobody has complained about Thargor having no life when he did the rankings, nor has anyone complained about me.

Additionally, the last two weeks were the first time I had ever taken the time to view people's individual rankings, and only because the changes in clan membership for the top 100 was abstract enough to make it interesting enough to do (being the statgeek underling that I am).

What you all don't know is that he's also accusing people in my clan of cheating, because it seems he's monitoring every point people make in other's clans, and it seems he doesn't like how one person's rating has risen so highly.

It took no additional time to find out that 180 proof's stats rose sharply, and it doesn't take a genius to realilze that going from 1436 to 1640 in two weeks is an improbable task, that would require the user to make an average of about 80 games without losing a single one.

This is all covered above though. You treat someone with suspicions that someone is a cheater like a threat to your clan. If I wanted to pose a threat, I'd have made a thread that goes something along the lines of "NETJAK CONDONES CHEATING" and gone into great length about 180's hopeless stat obsession, but as it turns out, I don't even have definite proof that he's a cheater, and thus wouldn't be stupid enough to post something like that, only to be refuted publicly. (We all know how the anti-DL thread went.)

What I find pathetic is that up until this point, you had spent more time in this thread today explaining why it's sad that I have taken such a TAO-based interest than I have spent in this thread all week. :) (Even this post only took about 15 minutes to write out.)

Well, sorry to nitpick, but I never said you cheated, I said I thought you might have cheated. And... Yeah, but from 1440 to 1640 in two weeks? Even most cheaters don't go up that fast (see Spirit Ninja :p)... So it looked suspicious.

As I concluded after I got the PM from Twelve, I would just keep to myself unless I saw something that confirmed it. I only posted it here because the matter was brought up.

Legends is much easier, because weak, high-ranked players are in high quantity :p . The top 100 players typically have a better grasp of the game than the unwiped, inflated golds/greys of Legends (or are just better at cheating/grey jumping), so you'd either have to play a good number of these without ever losing (very unlikely) or bottomfeed hundreds of games and never lose (which is less unlikely, but a little cheap).

Since he [180 proof] has quite the reputation, I'm not going to try sully it without definite or near-definite proof, but this is still very suspicious... I'd like to ask that you as his clan leader keep an eye out for him (or have another clan leader do it) and make sure he doesn't cheat or anything of the sort.

I am perfectly willing to accept the fact that I was wrong. In fact, I took Twelve's word for it and let the matter drop after he sent his return PM. So I already had let it drop.

I had no intention of ever going public with my suspicions. The only precautions I took were the ones I take with every potential cheater, message the clan leader to keep an eye out. I've done this with The Unknown and Littlefrightenedgirl of AL, Morning Star of Legion of the Elite, and others. I was assured that 180 wasn't cheating and resigned myself to the fact that I could be wrong--I would never have brought up my reasons for suspicion if it wasn't brought up here as a call to arms. :dry:

I'm willing to bet it's an issue with your cookie settings, or something along those lines... I remember having this trouble on the forums once, when the cookie settings were too restricting, so the forums were never allowed to send cookies and update the more recent posts.

Try deleting your cookies and temporary internet files, and set your cookie settings down to Med-High (if you're using IE).

That's just a basic fix though, I don't know if it will work in this case.

3) Present evidence to the public and mods
