Clan rankings are calulated by subtracting each members ranking from 101 and adding them up. Ranking updates will include changes in ranking since the last update.

I know these may not be completely accurate as rosters change fast, but its simplest to go with the stats as they appear on the website.

EDIT: And before you tell me so, yes I know more than just the top 100 of each server is important. If I had the top 1000 to work with, i'd happily use that to make these stats....(nudge nudge)

The statistics could perhaps tell the story. I doubt our rankings have dropped much - rather, accounts have disappeared. Your files should indicate which ones are no longer there.

Between Sept.26 and Sept.30 a GL server wipe took place. That is certainly one reason. High-rank, top 100 greys disappeared. BG has lots of skilled greys.

yes, thats exactly right. The number of BG members in the top one hundred was cut in half. I imagine similar things happened in other clans that have many high level greys

Banff is ruled by SI only in name... half there players don't even like each other... that's only natural when you absorb every little clan that comes ur way. Netjak has the majority of the vets and the VERY best... only the SI old guard can compete with that.

netjak IS number one on GL... if you have any doubts, have ur great leader or anyone else in that clan face me or any of our players.

warcow quit, but not resurge. He still plays once in a while. And the elite still has some of the most respected players around... much more so than darken-elves at least :rolleyes:

lol, check out SI on GL... a few good players (cool aid and cuathon) and a bunch of grey jumpers.

now check out SI on legends, then banff... half the "SIer's" are really chaosgladiators on legends... how can they even be considered truly SI?

and I never said anything about cools, bots, or darque or any of the originals, those are who I mean by the old guard. But they are only a fraction of SI right now.

and rantzu starting in KOTR does not make him non-netjak... a LOT of players started in different clans than they're in now.

as for who I am... i've been playing since november 03, just as a grey as and mostly on legends and army. Very few ppl knew me back then, and the few that did have left already. :cool:

Originals and vets are a little different. Netjak is full of vets and only a couple originals still play.

Simply put, SI is a nighttime clan. There is a lot less competition during the night... Notice, aside from one other clan near the top of those charts, SI is the only clan that has a strong late-night showing. The same goes for other servers--Bushido Gaiden and Hells Angels are the only top clans with even a minor showing during the late-night.

P.S. Dark Ash rules. He's in the same clan as I right now, as was he with the Knights (which merged with Legends, which might explain a spike in membership). Fear him.

Rumors have been circulating about Warcow's return to Great Lakes. Sightings of Warcow have confirmed that he has, at the least, been popping up once in awhile.

For instance, SI has a higher membership, but they also cover a separate time from the daytime clans, so they pretty much have complete clan monopoly on nighttime, but don't have any [ANY] showing in the daytime. Netjak hardly has any night-time showing, but has a very strong showing in the daytime, which accounts for much considering the clan competition they have (including Hell's Angels and Bushido Gaiden). I guess Hells Angels and Bushido Gaiden do switch leaders every once in awhile and thus get a broader membership spectrum in terms of times, however, compared to Netjak (day) and Strategic Insomniacs (night), they hold fewer members. (However, as I understand it, Bushido Gaiden DOES rival Netjak in active members, so it is somewhat of a moot point.)

When accounting for clan membership status, you must take into account many other factors, including clan competition, requirements, and active member status.

Warcow and The Elite will go down as the best member and clan in GL history, respectively, however, neither are really active anymore, so they by no means have the most active members.

A clan with lower membership standards are more likely to have more members, however, a clan with higher membership standards or a battle test requirement are more likely to have stronger and more active members. Some clans go by stat requirement when recruiting members; these stats can vary from clan to clan (Some clans are lenient on stat requirements and request only that your stats be above par [750] to gain access; other clans have stricter requirements, like 1000+, and thus are more likely to get better members)... Other clans go by skill requirement, preferring instead to test recruits and judge whether or not they gain access to the clan based on skill level. This is possibly the best method of clan recruitment, however, if you put a newbie up to test a newbie, chances are you'll get a bunch of newbies. (If a good member fights a newbie tester, he'll probably refuse the offer.)

That said, I'd have to say that the strongest clan showing in Great Lakes will HAVE to be Bushido Gaiden. No offense, but I'd have to say from personal experiences that Bushido Gaiden would have to have the strongest active member base in GL, although I have to say, my judgement on the matter would be quite irrelevant, as the first clan of the two (NJ/BG) to break Strategic Insomniac's late-night clan monopoly and gain a powerful late-night member base would surely be the shoe-in for GL's top clan.

Now that that is all cleared up... I'd like to make a request that the clan rankings charts on the page be updated. BG is full of turtlers, they enjoy only half of wut TAO is supposed to be... and have mastered half of it.

If you look at the top of each clan, you'll see that the top of netjak.com on any server can own any other clan's top freestyle.

turtles, it'll be closer, but netjak would still be close to, if not on top.

BTW, only Glers that remember me as a grey are Cav/monkus (i was in Bg on GL before i joined NJ there) and REALLY oldtimers like kalamady (from avant garde), Mote/ PT (from dark champions), the old-school sage warriors bunch (silent sniper, Ut, trintia, p51, etc...), and metro156.

also, you say that you face forms that put you at a disadvantage... that's part of playing TAO... it's no one's fault but ur own... if you find a certin unit at a certain place would own you, then change your own formation to fix that weakness.

crx, I happen to disagree with you on a lot of points here; the people on SI do not quarrel with each other on banff. We're one clan, just like the blue writing says :). And your 'only in name' statement isn't exactly true, I've seen about 5 netjakers total in the past month on banff, and they are OmegaShin, search, Fry, rl and nomar.

Secondly, people in BG prefer to turtle. Cavour and a few others can rush pretty reasonably.

CRX, I whole-heartedly disagree with what you say. I realize Phil started this, and you're only backing up your clan, but by bringing down Strategic Insomniacs, and then boosting Netjak afterwards, pointing out the flaws of ours, and then only the good of you isn't the best way to handle things.

I don't want to go into things, since me and TP already junked up one of Thargor's other threads. I can assure you that the things you said, especially about Banff, are all false. I don't know for sure about GL, since I rarely play there, and don't lead that server. If what you say is true, and that there are grey jumpers, or any other members partaking in actions that would affect the clan negatively, you should have PM'd Koolaid1, PsychoFireMan, or Cuathon. Posting it in a public forum isn't the way, and don't think Netjak doesn't have its grey jumpers; You shouldn't throw stones when living in a glass house.

Oh, yeah, and terps, before you say anything about me having illegit members on the top 100 for ranking points, here's 3 instances of golds in your account who took the easy path for your ranking pleasure, past and present...

1) flames re risen: Hacked, transpored to TAO UNITES on a regular basis so your clan tag would show up on the rankings.

2) VIKING: Isn't necessarily illegitimate, but fishes, mainly for greys. Is rarely seen in a satisfactory (or gold) match.

3) soupersong: Caught grey jumping. Several times. All greys worth at least 1 point, indicating he jumps them for stats.

terps, it appears you're the only top 100 gold in your clan that actually took the high road, and you spend your whole time nosing around other people's business, and casting judgement apon others. Maybe some reform in the way of your own clan should be enacted? I never seem to see you call for a blacklisting when it's your own ass at stake.

SG may have rankings done about as quickly as I do, for all servers, but all they consist of is the clan name and the rank itself, nothing else.

Thargor's are good, because they provide complete clan rankings data, but they don't come on time.

I'm offering my Great Lakes data, so all he has to do is worry about Banff, Revelations, Armageddon, and I guess Legends now. No shared credit, no acknowledgement of my clan in return, nothing. Just a little help from one statgeek to the next.

I am aware of that, and in my clan website I acknowledge that these are Thargor's rankings. Case in point:

You then bring up the same comment that I was apologizing for to begin with, and ask me why I haven't apologized for it.

I explain that I did.

You tell me I've done nothing but badmouth you and your friend Teph here, and that I've been wasting your time, probably mouthing off at the two of you.

Which brings me back to my initial point.

Wow.. Way to overreact. LT has spoken to me about his rankings before and they're very accurate and from what I've gathered usually maintained on his clan website.

Tephros and Roody.. You both had really rude comments. Thargor's rankings were not on time last week, I remember using JW's instead and talking to LT about the clans on Great Lakes on AIM. You say this like we have to use Thargor's rankings.

You might as well say that because one company produced something first, we are forbidden to use another company's superior product built on the original idea. Makes sense right?
