View Full Version : Crystal Golem

"Wizards began animating simple clumps of mud into humanoid shapes known as golems. Soon they progressed and enhanced these golems with their own magics, to make them more independant. The next logical step was to create golems specifically to counter such spells and magic. Hence the crystal golem was made, animated from crystal rocks which are naturally resistant to magic. This made them very hard to summon of course, due to this resistance, but even harder to destroy without getting close to it, something few soldiers dared do."

Crystal Golem

Health : 60
Power : 21
Range : Knight
Movement : 3 teleport
Armor : 0*
Recovery : 1
Blocking : 0
Special : The crystal golem takes only 25% damage from magic (unblockable) attacks. For focus effects, there is a 50% chance to resist them. This includes friendly magic.

23 power is a bit much. 20, maybe?

Also, if it only takes 25% of magic attacks, does it only get healed for 3 HP (25% of 12 HP) when healed?

yes

Well rounded unit. Boring as hell... but balanced.

Also not a fan of the resisiting 3 out of 4 focus attacks. It's good that he won't be stoned but I don't think this is the kind of unit to discourage people from freezing it... I think all units should be vunerable to being frozen because it adds some precautionary offense tactics. Also because it has a low recovery it's so easy just to take it into someones turtle, kill a unit and then run away.

quite, but when you look at it, he isnt really hard to kill at all. 4 knight hits, or 3 + a scout/assassin and hes gone. even if they heal him.
and if they take the risk of 25% chance to barrier him, its their risk.

plus, it can't get healed very good which makes it fair for having so much health

Congratulations!!!

You are the winner of the most overpowered unit ever!

21 power, with 70 hp, with teleport, with 1 turn recover AND the ability to resist magic and abilities....WOW

The ability to resist freindly buffs, just a small price to pay for this FREKIN TANK...You dont need to buff this guy, he rapes already as he is

you havent seen many units if you think this is overpowered, let alone the most overpowered ever.

consider a knight. 50 life, 22 power, 25 armor, 80% blocking.
he can resist virtually any melee attacks when used correctly, and the only real way to beat him is by unblockable attacks or paralysis. he recieves 12 extra life from healing.

consider my unit. 70 life, 21 power, 0 armor, 0 blocking, but very resistant to all magic.
he can resist virtually any unblockable/paralysis attacks, but 4 hits from knights OR 3 knight hits + a scout/assassin hit will kill him, even if he is healed. this golem takes only 3 life from healing.

and the knight has 1 recovery too. and the knight can be barriered if in danger, this unit will only have a 25% chance of being barriered.

explain again how it is overpowered

If you say so...

read what i just posted for my response.

its stats are no better than that of a knight, do people claim that knights are overpowered?

all in all, try again

this unit still needs work, nice idea but overpowered, underpowered is alot better than overpowered...

ok, let me explain

knights are tough, there only real drawback is their limited movement, and 3 is average. in a way it is, but who's complaning, not me and i hope no one else is, cause every person i know uses knights so it balences

this unit is tougher...go ahead and ask yourself "how is it tougher"...you should know, you made the stats, read it and ask yourself "what have i created!"

Walrus and Tabula

Both of you have your points...Though i agree wtih Walrus that the unit does resist friendly and can block, i still think it is a tad bit overpowered...Both are you are right in this case, so stop the arguring plz, thx =P (dont yell at me for trying to be nice)

Very original ideas, I would up the recovery time to two turns and down the hp to the standard golem 60. As for the magic resistance it is balanced, although it is similar to a knight I believe that the ability to resist focus is not a good idea. It ruins the standard rule the Focus attacks are unblockable, but a good idea nonetheless.

well i think i will either lower the life to 60 or increase recovery to 2, but not both. and mb change the focus resist to 50%

Walrus

Walrus took the name I thought about naming my unit, so I had to change it :( .

No way was I going to make a unit that Walrus could say was similar to his even if it was just a name.So I was forced to come up with a different word, hence Shard.
:p

oh it sounds... um like a good unit, just kinda pointless.

I think it has too much HP. If he has armor AND resistance to magic, shouldn't he be like in the low 30s?
