I am having a problem listening to music on my computer. The problem is that it just won't play when I try to make it. When I try to get somthing to play in Windows Media Player, this pops up:

How do I fix it? What is it? Somthing about a sound device. If anybody knows how to fix that, I'd be truly appreciative.

And I formatted everything on my computer recently, so I had to reinstall Windows. The Sound Device worked fine before that. So if somebody could just guide me through how to fix it, that would be great.

A) Figure out what sound device you're using, and dig through the piles of CD's that came with your machine (or sound card), and re-install the drivers.

B) Figure out what sound card you're using, and download the drivers for use off a driver site, or the manufacturer's site.

Yep, Xerent pretty much said it but here ya go:

Access Control Panel, and click on the System icon. Click Hardware, Device Manager, and open the Sounds, Audio, and Game Controllers dropdown menu.

If there is a yellow exclamation or a red sign next to the name of your sound card, there's a problem. Likely with the drivers, as Xerent said.

But basically, double click on the device name and see what the driver is, and then update it with the driver from the company's website, following their instructions. Also, run microsoft's windows update (windowsupdate.microsoft.com).

'Xcept avoid SP2, its bad for your comp.

Avoid using Microsoft products. That's the only logical suggestion. Get Winamp or something.
