How long does it take to get my gold account to work and can I still play on my old gray in the meantime

When you upgraded, did you list your grey account as the one to be upgraded? The account you intend to go gold must be an already created account.
And yes you can play on it while waiting.
And generally the wait is a couple of business days.
And any future probloems should be posted in the gold help forums.
