So how does the ranking work? Is everyone included, or just Gold members? And when is the ranking updated?

Everyone is included.
But, I'm curious how it works too.

I suspect it's for every win, +x points, for every loss, -y points. And maybe something for the draws.

It's obviously not just wins divided by total number of games, as the top players have a couple losses, and some lower ranks have no losses at all.

Yeah, it is really confusing. Nothing really seems to match up to me. I'm sure there's a system, I'm just confused.

i think they do it by your win/lose ratio. like if someone had 20 games and 2 losses they would be 1 lose for every 10 wins. so if someone else had 60 wins and 8 losses then they would be about 8 wins per 1 lose so the first person would have a higher rank. as for draws i don't think they count as a win or loss

It's something like that, but not quite, or else everyone with no losses would be at the top. They've got something that takes into account total games played, I think. But that's just my speculation, of course.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think it is a lot more complicated.

Perhaps it something along the lines of where someone is awarded 10 points for a win, and 1 point for a loss, and the rankings just tally the number of points... more points equals a higher ranking.

It isn't. I calculated a bunch. It is more complicated than just points for wins, points for losses.
