The Random Unit drops need to be at scheduled times. I've wasted over 3 hours on different days waiting for a drop yet not having one happen, I don't pay to deal with that BS.

Well, does anyone who got a drop remember when they got it? That would help.

I've played nearly 200 games, almost 150 of which have been on my current account, and I have never witnessed a unit drop. While I am a little purturbed that one can go through so many games without a drop, I don't mind it as much as some others, because I have a gold account, and goldies don't really need unit drops.

The times/days keep changing. I wouldn't mind if they gave us like a 2hour time period in which the drop could happen. It's just really frustrating wanting a unit and having absolutely no way to work at getting it, save being lucky.

The random drops need to be at *truly* random times!
Do the people in Spain / Indian / Australia have an equal chance in the drops, if they all happen at 9-10 PM EST (6-7 PST)?? I doubt it.
There should be an equal chance of the drops happening at 5 AM as there is at 9 PM. We have to be fair, world-wide.
I agree Half...Not to mention, if they did make individual times for each time zone/continent or whatnot....someone could just stay up late one night and hit multiple drops.
Random it should be.

yeah... random drops should be random. Scheduling them would just mean the sever gets flooded at certain times. Since the servers are pretty much constantly full during the day (at least to my experience) i don't think they need more incentive for people to play at those times. I think the solution to this problem is make random drops more frequent.... like WAY more frequent. I don't think more than 1% of us have ever even witnessed a drop, let alone get one.

It's as simple as rotating times. 1 day you do america, 3 days later you do europe. If your truly dedicated you can make it to both but dosnt throw the system off. And btw you can't really relate a word like "fair" to whats basically a lottery system

sure you can.... lotteries should be fair. Unfair lotteries suck... which is what we're saying here

Bah you responded as I was posting Bobo. To avoid crowding just set the drop within a certain time period, I think 2 hours is most reasonable. Most people won't have the dedication to wait around that whole time, and it's still better than praying for the drop to happen when your online.

In a lottery you have 1 out of a million people winning. Sure it's fair cause each person has the same 1 in a million chance to win, but in the end you only have that one person benefitting from it.
BoBo The Fool

well.... 1 out of million wins, but only 50,000 of that million actually has a chance to win.
If the drops were constantly scheduled at 4am where you live, wouldn't you think that's unfair?

Could you read all the posts before you respond?
Like I said before just rotate the times so everyone has a day that the drop is at a reasonable time.
Example: Monday is America prime time
Wednesday is Europe Primetime
Friday is Asia primetime

i did read all the posts. But you criticized hlaf-mad for using the word 'fair'.....
anyway... back to the point.... random drops should be random, or else they're not very random. I think you over-estimate the lives people have, cause i would think that for sure there would be people dedicated enough to play for 2 hours at a time.

Ok bottom line. What's the point of random drops? It's certainly not to let people try new formations/strategies since it's so hard to get a drop.
Drops tantalize our taste buds, but there's nothing we can do to get them. And that SUCKS. I've seen people (myself including) waste time, stress out, and suffer dissapointment about them. And that SUCKS. I'd rather have no drops at all then deal with the current system. Give them out as prizes at tournaments, increase the number of random drops, set drop times, whatever! Just don't play with our hopes, cause it SUCKS being helpless, and it's damn cold to make us feel that way.

Half-mad, how hard do you think it would be to make a europe-only unit drop and an america-only drop. How would the computer tell, and more importantly how would the coding tell?

Best possibility for that, have the drops based on time.
This does not make the drops specific to one area, but it can mostly exclude an area.
How often do you play at 5 AM? When it's 5 AM here, it's 10 AM in England. I've found that a lot of people from Spain start playing at about 2-3 AM Eastern Time.
I'm not sure about England, as the British people usually speak English (similar to American, but spelt correctly), and I don't continually ask where people are from.
I didn't notice a drop last night. Based on "every 72 hours", there should have been one. Maybe Bills did a drop at 5 AM.
Having the drops always at about 9-10 PM Eastern Time, means that pretty much everywhere in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia are not going to see any drops... unless people stay up late / get up early to play.
Those in Europe might have reason to complain about this... I've been playing during three drops so far.

I agree, the odds of getting a drop for those of us with jobs are so low as to be practically pointless. Not that I'm complaining, since I'm only a grey. But I've certainly given up hope for a drop.

Ok you got to understand that these guys dont sit at there computers watching everyone play they have lives, its why the drops are every 3 days or 72 hours.

Yes, but Bills life consists of going to Vegas and trashing the hotel rooms.
I've seen the pictures.

I'm afrid I have to say you are wrong, I work and goto college and I have 2 black bitches thanks to a unit drop, so ok I was playing in college but that really doesn't matter, random is random, my mate who was sat at home all day that day stopped for 15 mins and didn't get the drop. How about unit drops coming in 3s, one at 0000, 0900 and 1800 or something but only allow users to have 1 unit from a drop, you could also drop a differnt unit each time to allow users to play with formations and tactics more.

first off, i'd like to say that i've been playing for a while now and since i have a strict time frame, i've never seen a unit drop.
furthermore, i have to agree with wildy, the current drop system is simply mean. something needs to be done, i really don't care which option (completely random/set times) but SOMETHING needs to happen, as i have about a 9:2 win/lose ratio, the tournament thing sounds honkey dorey to me.
one last thing, anyone who snickers at my use of honkey dorey can bite me
