I've finally found out what Bushido means. It's kinda cool but i don't know what Gaiden means yet though.
Bushido means : "the way of the warrior" in Japanese.
Cool isn't it? Post here if you know what does "Gaiden" mean
As far as I know, Gaiden comes from the Robert Jorden 'Wheel of Time' books. It means Warrior Lord or something like that.

It has a loose translation of "master". Thus: "master of the way of the warrior"

Pretty sure a Gaiden is a group of some kind, like a regiment or something along those lines, and no it was not from WoT

I suppose this is as good a place as any to bring it up. It's been on my mind for a while. Don't get me wrong, I like BG and I've been on their side during the war. But isn't the slogan "slaughtering the weak and robbing the dead" imply weakness? It seems like a bad slogan to me.
no it implys they/we (if i ever re-join) take what we need from whoever has it, it could also be slaughtering the strong robbing the weak, but that dosnt sound as good

It implies that "the weak" is a very broad category, if you know what I mean. Well, compared to BG anyway.

It explains something you weren't around for.
When the clan was formed, we had only had clan functions for about a week. At the time the game wasn't even a quarter of a year old. Grey jumping was not shunned, you could swear and not get kicked off, administration was virtually non-existant. No precedents had been set, so it was chaos. There were no honor codes to follow, everyone did whatever they wanted. At the time, there were TONS of clans. The way BG took power was that the small group we were at the time took down the scattered, weak clans and then recruited their strongest members. Then we would move on and war another weak clan, and from the rubble of what once was their clan we would take their best members. We slaughtered the weak clans, and robbed the now dead clans of their best players. This is how BG rose to power so quickly, and where the slogan "Slaughter the weak; rob the dead...." originated from.
Of course we do not do this anymore, though. At the time nobody saw anything wrong with it, so we just ravaged Great Lakes. We still use it as more of a symbol of our routes.

Okay, fair enough. Interesting backstory, I'm glad I asked, that's been bugging me for a while.

I think it's endearing. :)
