Yar! I love pirates! All this looting and stealing, and enough eye-patches ta cover the deck. Why, it be the perfect time to have dinner at the captain's table on the seven seas, what with the high pirate turnover.
Or maybe not.

I almost wish it were true. That would be so sweet... doesn't even matter what you look like, the simple fact that you have boobs makes you automatically desirable.

I can go with that, well, the absence of the male anatomy defining point is also required.
So boobs and no schlong (thats the least offensive word I could come up with on the spot).
To a certain extent at least. I'd go into more detail, but then I'd feel self conscious.

Okay, let's say two girls walk up to you. For arguments sake, everything is equal between them except the rack. One has perfectly sculped, large boobs but the other has small, saggy boobs. You would just randomly pick one? I don't believe that for a second!
I'd say it comes down to if a guy is a boob man or an ass man, and you guys are not into the boobs.
Glamdring
07-30-2005, 11:27 PM
Well that would be okay with me, I've been told I have quite a nice ass. And where I have to wear the pirate shirt (or another similarly flattering cut shirt) to get a nice rack, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the pants
But I do know I've heard from many guys that bigger is not necessarily better. I have yet to decide whether this is something that they say to make small girls feel better or not.
Then again... I have a friend who had a bit of a late growth spurt, and now where's a double D, and her boyfriend told her he didn't like them as much.
Pinkie TDP
07-30-2005, 11:33 PM

*sigh* i'm actually horribly offended at the direction this took. Well, not really horribly offended, since I don't ever really get offended...but IF I could be offended, I imagine I would be right now.
2 girls walk up to me, all things being equal except for the rack, then I'd still choose neither.
I do not blind date, I do not walk up to some pretty face and ask them out on the spot. I may, on some (ok, quite a few) levels be shallow, but there are certain mental and social characteristics which are far more necessary than any physical trait. Its actually an interesting comparison when I look at past g/f's, since there is a very large variety in their physical characteristics.
That being the case, I need to know something about the girls before I'll really consider any kind of personal relationship.
and yes...back to the topic...yarr....I kinda want a parrot now.
Pinkie TDP
07-31-2005, 12:13 AM
The scenario wasn't meant to be analyzed to that extent. I said "all things being equal" to eliminate other factors such as personality, chemistry, etc. Imagine if you have the exact same person cloned with ALL factors being equal except the boobs. You wouldn't pick the one with the saggy, nasty boobs. I wasn't saying that guys go out only looking for a girl with a nice rack and ignore everything else. I just don't think someone can say boobs make absolutely no difference at all to influence your decision.
Megabyte
07-31-2005, 12:23 AM
aye, but I didn't consider such a scenario since its not feasible. The world's never been close to perfect, and I've yet to meet to people who were the same.
"all things being equal" mean to me, same height, hair, weight, etc etc.
So, since such a scenario isn't really feasible, why wonder about it at all?
that being said...I'll try to answer it.
There's nothing specific I look for, but if no possibility of physical attraction exists, obviously there can't be a relationship. Thats about the extent of thought I will ever put into it.
Pinkie TDP
07-31-2005, 12:26 AM
I understand that, but there also aren't dragons, pyromancers, etc in this world but you're able to suspend your belief long enough to play TAO! I didn't think this scenario would be that far of a stretch.
Megabyte
07-31-2005, 12:35 AM
though that implies that to play TAO you have to believe in the units your using, which isn't necessarily the case.
I play with a more chess style outlook. Knights, rooks, pawns. Each unit has a set standard and set move means. Strategies, compositions, blocking percentages. The units are just avatars the creator picked. They could be robots, military units, or anything else for all the difference it'd make to me; as long as they do the same thing they do now.
and to answer the "2 girls" question..
I honeslty just don't know how I'd pick. "all things being equal" could you honestly say how you'd choose between two guys?
Pinkie TDP
07-31-2005, 12:41 AM
Your criticism of my situation is that it could never happen because it's not real, and I was saying that really doesn't matter because you don't have to believe that dragons, etc are real to play TAO. Instead, it's the exact opposite. You don't have to believe this could really happen in order to answer the scenario, just as you don't have to believe dragons are real to play TAO.
In response, if it was the opposite for guys, of course I would pick the guy with the nicer unit without even having to think. There's absolutely no reason not to choose if they are the exact same person, except one has a better unit.
Megabyte
07-31-2005, 12:46 AM

ahh, but thats the kicker. The original explanation was of boob types, not the term nicer or better.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as they say. What is "nicer" for you, isn't necessarily nicer for someone else. Some people have some odd tastes and ideas for what is beautiful.
Simply because a certain look is pushed at us as being "beautiful" or nicer here, doesn't make it so.
And I'm sorry, as I kinda was leading towards this point and baited my "2 guys" question by not picking a specific trait that they differed in.
*whew* ok, now that I got my own point out, I'll cave. Yah, there is definitely a non-sag preference I'd have, "all things being equal" of course ;)
edit: although, it kinda does make you think...
Do you think a particular guy is handsome because of your own choices, or because of what you're told is supposed to be handsome?
Pinkie TDP
07-31-2005, 12:58 AM
Some people have some odd tastes and ideas for what is beautiful.
By using the word "odd" you are saying that somehow it's unusual they would find saggy boobs attractive, and there is something "wrong" with feeling that way. So maybe you should ask yourself your own question. :)
To respond to your question, I don't think it's possible to be completely uninfluenced by society's views of what's beautiful, but then again that leads into the larger question of nature vs. nurture... are we who we are strictly because that's what our genes had written out for us, or are we just clay to be molded by the society we're born into?
As far as looks are concerned, while I personally may not be attracted to some tribesman that have extremely large piercings that contort their face, elongate their necks with rings (even though I believe only females do this), tattoos covering their bodies... people in their culture obviously are attracted to that, yet they may look at me and think what I'm wearing is odd. I think you'd be hard-pressed to argue that that is simply based on genes and not society.

could you honestly say how you'd choose between two guys?
Most likely, me matey. Say I most likely, because truly it depends on which part of the body are you talkin’ ‘bout. The status of each body part would depends on the scoundrel and what they are attracted to. Below the “X” lays me example.
X
I like these physical features in this order:
1) facial structure
2) shoulders
3) butt
4) abs
5) biceps
I said "all things being equal" to eliminate other factors such as personality, chemistry, etc.
For arguments sake, everything is equal between them except the facial structure . One has perfectly sculpted, nice chin and forehead but the other has less fitting, misshaped facial structure. You would just randomly pick one?
Yes, I would pick Brad Pitts facial structure over one of which looks less strong and more importantly doesn’t fit their body shape as well.
For arguments sake, everything is equal between them except the biceps. One has perfectly sculpted, large biceps but the other has small, twiggy biceps. You would just randomly pick one?
No, I do not feel attracted to the biceps very much, therefore I would not let the shape nor size interfer with me being attracted to the male.
Pinkie TDP
07-31-2005, 01:10 AM
I'm not sure who you are addressing, but I am saying I wouldn't randomly pick - I would choose the one who I thought had the better feature.

Argh, new topic about society. Me thinks our [modern American] society is much like being on a pirates ship. We got a mighty large community on the ship and many a men and women but this one broad, has big knockers, and the large nose captain with a red parrot likes her much. The lesser ship community isolated from all other ships for days on end look up to the captains woman and see her large breasts and feel they want a woman with large breasts so that they would be more like the captain. The women of the ship want the pirate with a large nose and a red parrot so that their man compares nicely to the alpha-male captain.
edit: im not random chooser either; I dont think anyone is. I just think that they simply do not care how some parts appear on the ones they are attracted to as long as it is not a part of them that is highly regarded on the lookers list.
Megabyte
07-31-2005, 01:16 AM

my apologies, that was my bad. I meant to say "what I would consider" odd.
and to the rest, I find it impossible to be influenced by the society you live in, yes. After all, we are immersed in it. Everything we do and interact with is a product of our society. I think we can go against what the majority within the society go with, of course, but to step completely outside of it, I don't think its possible (at least I can't think of a way to do so).

Whether you state that it's your opinion or not, it still contradicts your criticism of what I had said.
What is "nicer" for you, isn't necessarily nicer for someone else.
Just replace "nicer" with "odd" and you would have to criticize yourself the exact same way you did me. :)

You were the one who brought it up, LOL. I was simply pointing out that you criticized me for using a subjective term but you yourself used a subjective term to imply a difference in quality.
The point is, you originally didn't use "different". You simply used "odd". So if you were to go back and change everything to "different", I could do the same for my posts and this conversation should have never taken place. :D
