I e-mailed a few weeks ago, still no access.

Account is "Tridec" on Great Lakes.

email billkaras@flashstudios.com and tell him you are gold (include paypal recepit) and wish to have access to rev.

The reason Jeff asked was because we sometimes get idiots who think that grey accounts have access to rev as well...

Yep. But first check that your gold account subscription hasn't expired. While your gold on your home server is not removed immediately (it stays for the rest of the month), your rev account is wiped the moment you cancel your paypal.

Part of the problem it the semi automated process they have implemented for upgrading gold accounts.
It doesn;t work for Rev or forum accounts all the time.

One thing to remember, is that Revelations is a privelage, not a right. TAO can deny access to revelations, or forget to give it at all, and you are still getting everything promised to you when you upgraded.
Seriously. Read the site.

The Gold server, Revelation, has been added! This server is only accessible to Gold Account Members.

-Only TAO administrators can create user accounts on the Revelation server. Contact goldaccounts@tacticsarena.com and include your TAO subscription receipt as well as your TAO username and Home server to gain access into the Revelation server.

It's advertised on the site as a benefit of a gold account.

I upgraded on the understanding that what they advertised would actually be made available to me in a timely manner. (By timely, I mean at least within the first damn month of being upgraded).

Yes. But it does not say gold accounts will have access. Read the pages where what comes with a gold account is listed. Rev was NEVER added to that list. It is an extra privilage, and as such can be taken away or denied. Also, notice that it says to gain action, YOU must first take action in notifying them.

That is why accounts on it are locked out quite often. Because it is not something listed as an item you get when you upgrade.

And I know, it is a petty technicality. But welcome to the Net.

It's misleading advertising then.

The /play page is part of the website, and anything on it which describes the features of a gold account is part of the contract unless expressly excluded on the actual signup page or terms of service.

If I don't receive access very soon I will be requesting a refund.

Then you better read the TOS better. Refunds are specifically listed as something not given. And no where in any list of things coming with a gold account is Revelations listed.
And no, the /play page is not part of the contract. The TOS is the ONLY contract. Read it.
But back to the access issue, have you emailed a copy of your paypal receipt to billkaras@flashplayer.com , along with a detailed report of what is wrong?

What comes with a gold account?
"13. Gold Account Terms of Service. Flash Player Studios, Inc. is only responsible in providing the following services that are detailed in the Gold Account information page."

Are refunds available?
"Gold accounts are non-refundable once they are processed"

What comes with a gold account then?
"# Gold Accounts will not be disconnected after each battle, giving you an advantage when the servers are full.
# RARE BONUS UNITS - Your account will receive the following units

1. an Extra Scout
2. Frost Golem
3. Mud Golem
4. Stone Golem
5. Dragon Tyrant
6. Beast Rider
7. Dragonspeaker Mage
8. Furgon

# Gold Account holders stats (wins/losses/draws) will be recorded and saved. Non-members accounts/stats are reset monthly.

The bolded italics are what we are NOT receiving at the moment.

Okay so it's not explicitly in the TOS, but it is in the advertisements.

I'm not sure about the law in Canada, but here that would be false advertising.

And yes. I've e-mailed twice.

Wrong, under US and Canadian law, they lay out what FPS must give you.
Show me an advertising saying all gold accounts receive access to Rev. Except for the announcement of the Rev server, which just says only gold accounts can access it, there is no promise of access. And even that doesn;t promise access. It does not say all gold account will be granted access. In fact: "This server is a privileged server and only Gold Account members are invited to play on it."
Notice the word "invited". As a privilage, they are NOT required to invite anyone. (although, the cases such as yours are oversights usually)
And, as I said, only the terms listed in TOS are legally binding. And since it says ONLY the items listed on the Gold Accounts page are offered with gold accounts, Rev access is not included.


And which email account did you sent it to?

BTW- I am not picking on you or trying to beat you up. I am just showing you the technicalities here.

I sent it first to the gold e-mail, then to the bills e-mail, then to the bills e-mail again!

I have now PMed Bills as well, whether that will help or not, I don't know.

Well given the poor treatment so far I won't be continuing with membership. It's quite a pathetic way to treat paying customers.

They are attermpting to automate things, but in the meantime, things seem to have fallen lower than ever......
Unless they get an admin in here who actually gets their email and PM's, many customers will be leaving.
