Question bout Gold Accounts

Let's say I signed up for a gold account. Then a couple months later I want to take a break from the game but i don't want to lose my units. Is there anyway I can cancel my account and reacitivate it later without losing my units?

That's a very good question.... i tend to take breaks from games myself, and i plan to be playing this game for years... but not for years straight. Please tell me that the accoutn will be saved...
