Beast rider preview (Stats and pictures)

Ok guys... Went over to the legends site and found some info on the beast rider I thought I would share:

HP: 38
Armor: 15%
Recovery: 1
Blocking: 45% front, 22 sides
Move: 4
Power: 19
Attack: 2 spaces in a row.

Seems interesting... Kinda a scout knight.... who rides a giant ant eater... or whatever the hell that thing is.
I think the main purpose of this is to be a focus breaker, probably meant to be used against stone golems when they come out.
No word yet on when we might get them, but they are available on the legends server in unit drops

You know what I just noticed? In those pictures the one guy has 2 lightning wards.... I guess they are available in drops over at legends...

and you know you like my 2 lightning wards ;P and the lightning ward was only droped once like 4 days after the game came out :) so there very rare in legends server

So, it can damage two units in a row, ala the Dark Magic Witch? Or, is it a spear-type attack, where the range of the attack is two squares, but the attack hits the closest unit in LOS?

it's 2 in a row like a darkwitch, but they can be blocked (even the second person)

No, it's the server on Seed's site. It is less often used as the one's here though.

It's the Beta server. Seed tests things there before bringing them here to the main servers, where they have been playtested and balanced and (hopefully) won't break the game.

I'm hoping they up the blocking on this unit, a melee with such low blocking and health will probably be hard to use.

That still looks like a pretty cool unit.... but 19 damage isn't too much.

Actually with 38 hit points and 15% armor This unit has more "Real HP" ( meaning add 15% more due to armor) than most units in the game.... more than all magic users, scouts and assasins.

I think the high armor and mid grade blocking will make it harder to kill than scouts or assasins, but put it just under the knight.

About where it should be if you ask me.

is the attack unblockable?? or can his attack be blocked by a knight or someting?

In the one game i played against a beast rider, i blocked the front attack (knight), but it hit my scout in behind (attack was coming from the front.)

I'm assuming you have a chance to block either.

Without healing, two hits by a knight and it's dead.
It's a balanced unit, but as the idea behind it is to charge into the enemy forces, to strike two units at a time, odds are good that it will be a unit that is quick to die.

I image that, with the exception of killing clerics and focused units, the majority of the attacks that this unit does will be at a two square distance, just for the added distance between the units. This would be very useful if you wish to run away from a Knight after attacking it. Most people will learn quickly not to line up their forces, when this unit is nearby.
