okay so we will get into the gfx, lol... did you actually play through the whole game? have you ever played it? that game was absolutely incredible, and the graphics only made it better, i'm not saying that cel shaded graphics are better, but that they fit wind waker very well

i have to disagree, the GC graphics regularly rival the xbox, and both just tell the PS2 to go shove it, the major advantage xbox has over GC is the advanced lighting it can pull do to its greater processor power, however as far as textures and things are concerned the GC is a very good machine

Metroid Prime, SSB Melee, Mario Kart, and all of the Resident Evil games rank up there on some of the best games ever, let alone just the GC. Also, I have yet to see prettier graphics in a game than Metroid Prime, with the possible exception of Fable on XBox. Processor speeds and blah blah blah are all different for the same systems. Personally, I'd go by what the end product looks and plays like.

but better graphics on a sequel is usually the rule, if your looking for a game outside metroid, go look at pikmin (either one) the visuals on that game are gorgeous

GC has better graphics than PS2. And, I have to admit...when I first saw a GC game it blew me away. So tiny and....so off the wall from anything used before.

Oh, and fav game has to be Metroid...since it's the ONLY game i've played on GC. I do wanna play Echoes and Wind Waker.

anywhat, i'm with slippy on this one, wth is with ppl railing against the controllers? i love my GC controller, but the Xbox (controller s) comes in a close second (understand i own a gc and not an box, so i'm biased here)... and the gamecube controller has 3 less buttons than a box controller (yes i am counting the pushdown stick buttons) so yeah, whats the deal with this?

and i'll leave slippy to point out that the box has more than just 2 good games

wow, i hadnt heard that, but werent the scenes in the RE remake all pre-rendered? though i have heard that when push comes to shove the GC can pump more poly's than a box, i have no idea if its true, but it certainly looks like it in some games (though thats the game creators fault, not the respective consoles)

Why do people think the weight matters so much? The xbox weighs 10 pounds. My AP biology book is heavier than that. Besides, do you carry your GC around with you? I doubt it.

If you're willing to spend $100, $150 isn't gonna break the bank.

xbox has other good games. Brute Force is the best squad based game I've ever played, but it had poor publicity and marketing.

Actually, if you look into it, at several points the PS2 is at the low end of the graphical capability spectrum. The thing is, Nintendo puts everybit of they're time into the gameplay, and works very little on the graphics. I'm pretty sure the put more effort into the sound and music of a game than the graphics, which, while it's good game play is essential, it would be nice to have graphics surpassing that of games like Paper Mario.

Crystal Chronicles single player is good. But you always have to carry the frickin chalice. Which slows you down a lot. In co-op. YOu must have GBA's and GCN-GBA cables to use as controllers. It's really good co-op. Even though my friends always force me the carry the chalice :P. You should definatly buy it. Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures is another great co-op game.

I rented and beat Four Swords in five days, and it was a great game. However, the problem with games like FF:CC and Four Swords is that I have few friends with 'cubes, and even less with GBAs+cords, so it's just about impossible to get a co=op game started.

From what I heard, Fable will not make it to pc. The creator has been working on this game for 10 years, and disgraced himself by bragging about how he was gonna revolutionize the RPG genre...and just plain didn't. I don't think he has enough fanfare for a port of the game. But hey, $$$ talks!

EDIT: The DS was released already....anyone here have one? Or played one? I'm curious to find out if it's worth my cash. I'm struggling to choose between buying another PS2 :rolleyes: ,getting a DS, saving for a PSP or buying THIS BAD MOFO' (http://www.capcom.com/SB/)

from all reports i've heard, the DS is amazing, gamespy just reviewed the remake of super mario 64 for DS and gave it 5 stars, said the graphics are improved and that there are 30 more stars to collect, meaning new stuff for those of you lucky enough to have owned the original (i was not so lucky :() and that the system itself is a blast to play on... i am not getting a PSP, to much money, battery life is gonna blow and frankly, just no, lol... thats my 2 cents on the matter

now, about steel bat... from all accounts that game is absolutely incredible and worth every penny if you enjoy mech games, and the expansion makes its so much better, look around on gamespy if you want, they have an article/review on it, and stuff on the DS, so you can read up and make a decision if you so choose (unless i'm terribly mistaken, you could get a DS, and steel bat for maybe a little more than a PSP would cost... and if you bought steel bat now, by the time you had enough money to by the DS, it will probably have dropped in price)
