I have been interested in purchasing this game, however, I must admit. Reading this thread makes me think twice. I don't understand half of the stuff that is being said. Perhaps, when I purchase the game, I read this thread in more detail to see if I understand it a little better.

Dude, i know EXACTLY what you mean. I came in here before stating like it was a different language but it all comes so quickly. Just start a new character, it all comes together. You will love it im sure, but believe me, i know EXACTLY how you feel right now. I have been where you are. :)

Had our fc run right into a group of 9 alliance, obviously drops the flag.
I'm soloing their fc and he will drop it, but one of their twink rogues comes and kills me. Two seconds later their fc drops from my DoTs, but 3 other horde run right by me, so we end up loosing that game.

Well 10-19 is all twinks. And what I mostly hate is that you have very very long matches that just get so boring.

Where's a good place to get feral druid/rogue gear in your late 40s? I've got the AB stuff, and I'm working on the WSG stuff. I keep getting in with a 9 person premade. for the 40-49. So it's going pretty fast. When they left, I got into 4 druid groups, two resto, two feral... Hehe. Charging in in bear form...

I've finally decided I'm tired of waiting. I want level 70.

Anyway, I just had a dream about wow. I got out of bed and got on so I could tell Bama about it, but wow is down and he isn't online. So... you guys get to hear about.

My dream started out with me waking up and discovering that overnight, my body had somehow sensed that something was "coming" and changed from a paladin to around a level 6 warlock (though it wasn't specifically a warlock, in my dream it was just someone with shadow magic. I didn't have lock spells). At around the same time that I discovered this, I realized that some sort of barrier had broken and the alliance were storming all the horde cities.

So here I was in my apartment with bama and a couple other random people. We decide that I have to use one of my spells to guard the door (not very lock-like). Apparently in order to do this spell you have to tie one of the person's belongings or some of their hair around the doorknob (which somehow was about 8 feet off the ground, so I had to stand on the couch to reach it). I couldn't use something of my own because I was only level 6, so bama offered to let me use something of his instead. In the end I used two of his socks tied together. Somewhere in the middle of this process someone suggested that as long as I wasn't a paladin it should be my hair on the doorknob. He told me to check and make sure that I wasn't one by licking my hair (according to my dream-self, paladins have distinctly good tasting hair, and this is how you tell them apart from everyone else).

I told this guy that even though I'm not a paladin anymore it shouldn't be my stuff on the doorknob because part of the spell makes it so that when someone breaks through, the first person they come after is the one whose personal belonging was used. I then asked bama if he minded being their first target and he said no :). And this was when someone called and woke me up -.-.

The strangest thing about my dream was that we were all scared of the alliance. Like it was some strangle parallel universe where the alliance was actually good.

Well 10-19 is all twinks. And what I mostly hate is that you have very very long matches that just get so boring.

Not always on my realm. We still get at least one low level like 10, 12, etc.
We get 18's to, but they aren't as bad other than having a little lower health than the others, and dealing a little less damage.
We do get long mathes though. I've had some last an hour and a half unfortunately.
And even if one team gets 2 caps quickly, they end up farming us and bring out all of their battle standards.
Alliance is a lot more twinked than Horde at this level.

I'll probably do BG's at 19, 29, 39, 49, etc. until I actually get to 70. Then I'll probably redo a hunter as an orc, play a troll shaman, and use a tauren warrior, as well as a tauren for a druid if I do that again.
But that's a pretty long time away ...

Pfft I got that like three months ago :p

They only recently hit 70, most of them are poor. So it's gonna be a while till they're well geared. Since they can't run heroics, and refuse to respec. (You shoulda seen the argument I had with the mage over mana efficiency. Truly hilarious. ) They've got a good number of rares though. Only one or two greens each. They've also started to PvP, so they'll be getting that gear too. The priest doesn't realize that you can trade Shadowcloth and Spellcloth for Primal Mooncloth, so he's QQing about the cooldown.

So I'm in the 40-49 at 50 and I got owned by some twink shaman. Every piece of his gear except for the trinket slot was +Spell Damage. 400 some. I pretty much killed myself on his Lightning Shield. Getting hit for 350 just from his lightning shield. He did blow all his cooldowns for that insta kill, but still... Freaking owned...

Jesus. Auctioneer bugged for me. Have to disable.. Sigh

That site has a ton of addons to choose from. There are more like Titan which provide the same information, so if you like having that info easily accessable compared to normal, but don't like Titan, you can find another.
I like it because it provides Cords, bag spaces, durability of items, and a few other thing.

Alliance usually own because they have a huge defense, getting across the bridge can be a real pain at times.

Oh my god this is so frustrating. We don't really have a tank in AV so it's going between people, and every time he targets the mage the mage runs out the goddamn door. Even though Galv is at 10%, 15%, or 17%.

He did it 4 times total.

Yea, I will admit. We cover the bridge area very very well. In all my 9 matches, I've never seen van die.

Wow. I never realized how badly shaman were screwed over in PvP. Considering the key ele spells are easily dispelled. So is earth shield, and NS. End ench can easily be kited...

It's enhance not ench :). The auto crit of ele can be dispelled, as well as flame shock, but nothing else. ( I think totems are immune to AOE right?) Resto is fun though, you can stay alive for hella long.

Eye of the Storm is dispellable with Arcane Shot. Meaning against hunters with a fair autoattack rate, you're boned.

Rank 7. Eye of the Storm gives you 100% chance to avoid spellcast when you're crit for 6s. Unless they've got a massively massive crit rate, it won't be up all the time, and oft will be brought down.

But yea, my shaman respecced ele out of boredom. And after being owned repeatedly by them. And by seeing how much they do in AV. And at my friend's advice. And because what's his name respecced enh so I'd do the honour back to him. Suprisingly, I'm oom as much now as I was before. I just kill slightly slower. (Except every few minutes when I blow the cooldown) ( Or in PvP )

I'm not really too sure I'm looking forward to PvPing or not...

When I ding 70 I think my biggest problem will be my guild figuring out if I'm staying ret for DPS or if I got'a roll holly for heals -_-
Regardless of the decision I'm leaning towards PvE gear and not so much specked for PvP.

Ret pallies are fun. And they do some damn good damage. I dont really like holy pallies since they aren't very good at group healing, only at direct heals.

Prot pallies are alright but i really dont think they are that great because a warrior is ideal tank, but these are great for soloing cause ur a tank that can heal.

I hate the WoW Armory. Doesn't update enough, and it still lists me as being in the guild I'm not in. Signed a charter for some guy and it wont list me as not being there anymore.
In search I get listed as being in 3 different ones, but when you click on my name is lists the noob guild.

The fact that they have no AoE heals or HoTs doesn't matter. Holy pallys are designed to be specific target healers. Such as MT/OT in raid etc. They aren't built for spot healing what so ever. Our setups for 25s are shammy/priest/druid on the raid, spot healing, with 2 pallys for MT and one for OT and it works like a charm. Also, rumor has it in the next major patch, paladins are getting some sort of HoT. In my opinion that would make them damn near invisible in PvP, good news for my healadin :happy:

So...Which hunter deals most damage. BM, MM or surviv? I am thinking BM because of the 20% speed increase, and pet owns, but MM gives you some more AP. Survival I hear you need around 600 base agility for it to work, so that's out of the picture till i get good gear.

41 20 0 BM raid spec til you can break 600 base agil, then go survival. I can easily break 800 agil now if I wanted to, but I love the physical damage from BM way too much. Any speed increase sucks as BM, because simply it relys on base physical damage. If you're BM you should be looking at 25% crit unbuffed, at least, and around 300+ ranged dps.

Base kara requirements for BM hunter is:

20% crit
1.5k AP
6k mana

All unbuffed.

IMO frost is best leveling spec..and best overall spec. but end game 0/44/17 is now very good because of icy something (hastens spellcasting) which is in frost tree.

Icy veins.
Most people are still arcane/fire mages in end game anyway. Mainly for the pure dps, cos fire hits like a truck still. It's only a 20% increase anyway, not THAT useful. It's mainly best for pvp and lower end game raids.

The hardest chars to kill in the game are palys. I HATE palis. They SUCK! It is just so freakin hard to kill them with their bubbles and heals. It just sucks.

Never lost to a pally on my druid. Never. Even when they blow all their cooldowns. Regardless of spec. Hardest ones were ret, easiest prot.

Pallies aren't exactly HARD to kill. Most that I have faced don't deal a lot of damage that quick anyway.
They just last a long time, which makes them seem hard.
Their little bubble thing has to be one of the most annoying things I've come across though.

Pally discussion eh? Now this is where I can actually talk seeing as I play pally most of the time.

Earlier on today, level 63 belf holy pally vs level 70 dwarf ms warrior (full S1/blue gear), on the edge of goldshire. Now people say holy pallys cant do decent damage, but they can, if you do it right. I take this guy down to 17% with only 1 heal in between. Then he bravely runs into GS inn. So I simply bubble and chase him, holy shock crit hammer of wrath crit hes down. During this time I have 3 level 65 guards who have spawned hitting me and a 62 BM hunter. Kill the hunter too. Then just outheal the guards and run away.

Moral of the story is, never underestimate a pally, no matter of level or gear, they will bite you on the ass.

Faze - DarkmoonFaire EU, armory keeps buggering up for me in case anyone wanted to see it.

But either way, pallys are the best pvp class in game if you know how to play them.

Nah my twink has 1360 health.. Armorys just fudged, if you look at his stamina it says 1360 though.
The only reason I used those shitty pants was because I was geting the armor kit fo free and I didnt see dark leather pants in ah so i got screwed there.. ohwell i still didnt have to pay.
Speed doesnt really affect mutilate it's damage of the actual mutilate. Faster weapons are always prefered for rogues. Those are season one welfare daggers!!! wewt

No, it is impossible. Challenging Shout is not conferred to lower level'd chars (I tried with a level 70 guildie), with priest buff that's 200 more, Rumsey rum adds 150, the potion adds 27. Blood Pact, even it's highest rank adds 1118 health, and he wouldn't be able to use it in combat. So that's 1569 more than listed, so roughly 4k out of combat. In combat it'd be about 1000 less. Still impressive, though warriors aren't really that strong in 10-19. As FCs they can just be snared, pallys are much better as FCs.

Nope. Buy greens on AH leveled 41-45 for 1g each. Disenchant them. Sell.

Frustrates the hell out of me, I"m in trouble on my horde guild because of a fight I wasn't involved in because I fought with a guild officer the day before over Shaman Tanking ability. The officer said a shaman can off tank, they've got all these talents to improve their survivability. But no shaman I've met takes them, yea they can step in if your tank dies for a moment, but you don't bring a shaman along for off tanking, they aren't likely to blow 15 talents in that tree in things that will only benefit the raid if tank death occurs and they manage to still keep going.

There is nothing more I hate as a healer than having to overheal my targets constantly because to heal them with my big heals would mean that they'de be dead.

I'd say ~1.5k by 30, 2.5k by 40, and from there it's fine to go how you want, but some people need stamina..> Badly.

And PvP rewards are good, cheap, gear. Very good actually, and they provide that stam that's needed.

They don't provide good PVE aspects usually. Like for my hunter they give great stats, but very little attack power.

Might take out little spell damage for a lock.

Truly, I never really did ST and i got along fine ... for me 40-49 was a fun bracket, mostly because theres not too many twinks, but not too many noobs either. So its mostly up to you

Indeed. Though still some little 13 year olds who think themselves gods of strategy, there's less. Only a twink every few rounds you'll run into, and you've got most of your abilities, so that's cool too. Most classes stand a fair chance against hunters by then, though locks are still OP like hell. I be rockin the ele DPS, usually in top 3, rarely not in top 5.

Heh mages are easy to destroy on shaman, unless they counterspell, and that's only a threat to ele/resto, no ench.
I hauled 4 people around the AB map 3 times on my shaman. I'm bored and resto now. Warlock, Pally, Druid, and Mage.

I despise hunters. EASY MODE. I must admit, they are very good at RUNNING AWAY. Lol. As a mage i have never really had a problem with hunters, i sheep the pet and then the hunter pisses his pants because he lost his precious pet for 30 seconds. Also, as a fire mage, i can take down a petless hunter very quickly. I just hate hunters in general.:rolleyes:

Are you from england coder? And yes horde rock at PVP, but actually having healers is a toss up. Today we had no healers in wsg and lost due to it, alliance always have 3-4 healers. I out damaged a super intense hunter though, so i felt prouud. got up to 512k damge.

Nope. Thing is, I own most of the healers within seconds, Mind Blast, SW: P Mind flay Silence Mind Blast mind flay if still not dead. I've got lots of spell crit and damage.

seduction is hard to get to use right.
Imp gives you a slight increase to health all the time, voidwalker gives you a short, powerful bonus to health and prevents casting damage. if you want CC go succubus, if you want survival VW.

May use VW in AB. Seduction didn't really help me much at all, and the blood pact didn't make a significant difference.

Might try them in WSG though because blood pact buffs more than just myself more often.

I've been having a lot of fun browsing the sites you all have recommended, and I believe I've made quite a wonderful interface!

Being the minimalist and some what perfectionist person I am, I piled through and tested a very large number of plugins. What I've assembled is a very easy to adjust to UI that's not far off the stock one, modifying only what is cumbersome or unfriendly in the standard one blizzard provides.
I'll get a screen shot some time.

We had a warrior and pally. Both didn't know how to AoE.
The pally was prot. But he left it, because 1 vs. 1s took too long.
Warrior was fair, except for... You know, not AoEing or multi sundering. For the event in ZF, I started kiting 9 around me in circles. It was a bitch. Thank god for earthbind and grounding.

Just watch out for higher level players in PvP zones, and in less popular zones just move your camera around every now and then.
STV is popular so you need to move it around and keep moving away from the higher level players, Stonelton isn't as popular so you'd just need to move your camera.

Heard that quest was a pain.

I'd suggest just checking with your guild mates to see if any of them have the mats left over which would be a big help.
Or check here (http://wowmb.net/) for someone on your server who might. Just register and search for people on your server, and check the box that says "Have Mats to help with Dreadsteed quest".
They have a walkthrough on the quest to if you'd need help with that.

You could play on my server if you want to.

Just watch out for higher level players in PvP zones, and in less popular zones just move your camera around every now and then.
STV is popular so you need to move it around and keep moving away from the higher level players, Stonelton isn't as popular so you'd just need to move your camera.

I'm trying to decide if switching servers would be worth it while they are offering free tansfers.
I don't like having the waiting time to get in, but it doesn't happen extremely often, and I also don't want to be on a low economy server since I'm thinking I wouldn't make money as fast. =\

I was thinking of creating a new char on the newly added server when it's opened to new signups. Thing is though, I don't want to do the same thing over again, alone. If anyone else whose one like 3:30-6:30 EST most days wants to do it with me, I'm up for it. I know priest/mage would probably be the fastest combo, but I odn't exactly want to do that.

My shaman is now 48. I'm loving resto, because over the last hour I've healed 30k and spent 0 mana on it. Keep myself buffed with Lightning Shield, Mana Spring, and Flametongue, and hit flame shock every 12 seconds. Never go oom and never need to manually heal myself.

What I hate is that now, I'm closer to earth shield than ever, but now I'm at a great level for PvP.

Alliance twinks aren't always bad, usually end up annoying me at some point since I'm not a twink, but Horde has some pretty good racials for PvP, better than most alliance in my opinion. Undead are awesome at PvP with WotF and Cannibalize.

Alliance Racials are a LOT more situational, and are more effective depending on class. For example, Cloak of Shadows + Stoneform = Out of every current debuff in game, allowing you to vanish. Perception is great if you know if they're coming. Escape Artist is awesome for warriors and rogues. Shadowmeld is good for warriors, rogues, and druids, to help you get the jump, and Evasion helps reduce the +defense you need to go crit/crush immune. Draenei usage is obvious.

Yeah, so me and some friends went on an adventure at 3:00am last night.
let's just say I "loled" for a solid hour or more. The best part was when we got the lowbie killed by their own grad with MC

Every one knows you can /2 trade chat when ever you're in a major city, did you know that includes ALL of them?
here we are in Darnassus offering 10 primal earth for like 1g to the first person who could come and get them.
or "WTB port to Shatt for 100g" etc etc.

Our buddy Issac (70 Nelf Hunter) fallowed us around the hole time, but the Alli pansy wouldn't toggle his PvP. He'd watch us rape all the lowbies, 'lol' at them. even when we where running around raping the AH/Bankers/even the lowbie quest givers

Eventually we got bored and Hearthed out.

Cursed doesn't seem to have anything like what I'm wanting so I neeed to know where to get this damn thing. Yeah, it probably will.
I was fine when I was spending it on the mats and patterns and what not, but I'm disappointed in myself buying the armor now.
Have only about 8G left on the lock though so as long as I don't send money from my mule I'll be fine.

Nec: If you find the screenshot I'm sure we could help you more. The OP would have more of an idea especially or we might be able to let you know what is in there.

Popular unit frames now though seem to be Pitbull, but you could have been looking at a total UI compilation.
I just went back a bunch of pages and couldn't find it... 0_O creepy because I sware I saw it.

I think Volcom posted it, it was a super cool UI (forget the name) with minimap bottom middle and frames on either side
The unit frames seemed animated but instead of having the information beside a square image, it was on a bar above the mana/hp bar.

PitBull, or apparently one called DUF. I couldn't find anything that seemed to be new but both of those look almost exactly like what I want. Please one of you WoW super zomg people find me something!!

I am still. WoW shut down all the realms or something.

Got disconnected right when we were about to win AB. Could log back in but couldn't connect to my realm, and it would say offline on and off.

yes, they both are. I got them from a thread showing just what pitbull can do.
I guess I just suck at pitbull or something? I went through every menu and sub menu it had and didn't see anything that'd allow that kind of customization. maybe I'll have to try it again.

In the mean time is there a 'big name' for some kind of plug in that'll show me how long buffs have left? either with a faded clocking kinda deal (like the stock action bar kinda thing) or even with numbers. that I DEFIANTLY need, but not the stupid pally team buff/ show you're hole fucking raid and what buffs are missing deal. just me and my buffs

p.s. if some one rocks at pitbull please PM me I NEEEED to learn it.

Or you could search around and they might have some info.

Also, in their UI section of the forum, they have a thread for helping with a UI.
If we can't help you on certain parts of it, you could register there and possibly ask for some help.

I'd help you out more with Pitbull if I could, but I'm not good at actually customizing my UI or using Pitbull either. Still need to learn.

If I ever get into using the keybindings instead of clicking, this UI looks pretty neat to, IMO.

Regular WoW for sure, because you need that in order for Burning Crusade to work. If you want TBC, you'll need to buy both, in other words. :p

i use to click, and use the Arrow Keys, but when i hit 60 and started to PVP coz i wasnt in a raiding guild. i realized that arrow Keys just dosnt cut it.

So i forced my self to swap, i changed my desk around, so i was uncomfortable for me to use the arrow keys, changed my chair palcement,... Etc Etc
but i Aslo got a new UI, that hide all my action bars, Forcing me to key bind..

Its sooo Much better... and works 100times more :)

I have 86 badges and I have already purchased, Dory's Embrace, Stonebreaker's Totem, and Choker of Vile Intent.

Choker of Vile intent is the necklace with 21 agility or something like that, 17 hit rating and some AP? Cause worgen claw necklace in kara has 1 less hit rating but 3 more stam then that.

Yeah.

I PvP all the time but in BGs I don't think clicking has hurt me a lot.
Actually lead the BG's in damage a lot of the time.
I figure by 70 or before I start arena I'd want to be using WASD.
I'll probably try binding the ones I use most but at the same time keep them available for clicking and see if I can switch that way.

Not sure how much they help in raid, other than helping have a cleaner interface.

I'm tempted to level a character on that new server to see how fast I can get to 70, but I still haven't had a 70 yet so I'm trying to resist that urge.
