I like the futuristic, technoy look, but it doesn't suit the medieval theme of the game all that much.

Yeah, quite a few members of my clan have been telling me that they cannot even reach the site. The new layout is great, I just don't see what taking Bills so long in going through the Admin CP and click the 'Turn Custom User Title on' button and the 'Turn Custom Avatars on' button. :rolleyes:

The site layout is OKAY, i guess, but what I really care about is the forum layout, or at least the buttons. These buttons and smilies were obviously meant for a white or light background. We used black.

We didn't need another one. For that matter, we didn't need a new unit, new forum upgrades, nothing. TAO was just fine the way it was.
Here's the problem.
You have to introduce change , in a game like this, occasionally. Members have been asking for changes as long as I've been here. Even though the system worked fine, people get bored. Change is a good thing.
We're all gamers. How many times have you gotten involved in a game, grown tired of it, and moved on? Without change, the same thing would happen to TAO. It already has, for some people.
Even if the changes aren't exactly they way we imagined, we should all be a bit more open minded. What's the point in ripping on all this work that's been done? Before long, we'll all be used to the new stuff and it'll be second nature. In fact, I think all the changes have been positive.
I'm only saying this because I haven't seen much positive feedback to ( what I consider to be ) some very cool and major changes to TAO. I really thought more people would be pumped.

Think about all the expanded options and new stuff we get to figure out. New members ( who are coming in all the time ) will think of these changes as normal and us vets will get used to them soon enough.

I wasn't talking about the clicking. I was talking about Bills was still more than a week late on his word, and golds weren't upgraded, and golds were only partly upgraded. I agree that this site change and everything is a positive thing. Some of the effects, though, are bad. Also, the overall change from DR to Bills was negative in my view, as well.

Did DR have to leave for Bills to make these changes? No. He could have been doing them all along, but only did ANY work when all of the spotlight was shone on him.

I agree with you that these changes are for the better, but others are not.

My actual thoughts on the site design, are it's good, but it just does not fit. A more midevil (sp?) look would have been better. Simpler, brownish woodish stuff. With this, I expect to log on and blast down the enemy dropship with my plasma rifle (which would be cool), not to shoot the enemy knight with my bow and arrow.

everyone experienced problems.. and will continute to cause Bills just up and switched server companies for the website.. That is why it was down.. and will be every once in awhile.
