I'm having fun versing Golds on GL as a grey... But for some reason, they never seem to accept my challenges.. Nor do they jump me.

Rather disappointing really.

I have some screenies, but I thought I'd largen my collection before sharing :)

Here is a head of one overconfident grey jumper, who see nothing wrong about grey jumping. Since he is not a good player he ran away from a game he could win. He got 3 side scout blocks, which made me pretty mad at him (all of them would kill the scout).

Luckily I had my head on shoulders. I liked one part the most. You will see.

Actually, the 20pt adjustment name was originally used by someone else. I don't think I'll bring it out again, but I might use a similar one. He was a good player, and he was one of my Jumpers for a while, I used it in tribute since few people knew him.

I bring more greyjumper heads, this time higher rated!

First up we have Porcheezi, who was making fun of other golds and turning down challenges when I first laid eyes on him. He accepted mine though, after a while of calling me a newb and telling me he would own me, etc. etc.

Next, we have the luckiest gold ever, but he taught me a new love more my assassin who, along with my lw killed his last three knights. (he wouldn't attack her until the end because she had 23hp-19=1.)

Anyway, game starts off, he's rushing with a poison wisp, mud golem and golem ambusher right at a spot where he can kill my cleric, and i can't do anything about it. I lose that pretty quick but take my wisp and his mud golem along. My enchantresses died soon after, :crybaby:

After alot of trading and lucky blocks for his team, I managed to get him down to
knight: 19hp
Knight: 50hp
Knight: 36hp

With my scout, assassin, lightning ward and barrier ward

Later, it got down to

Knight: 22 hp
vs.
Assassin: 4hp

I made it so he could only front hit my assassin, so it was 70% for me to win if he attacked (could zap him right after with my lw) or a draw, he attacked i blocked, i won.

I use loads of accounts to hunt down grey jumpers. I use Hoolwath (when it isnt stolen), Hoolwaths#1fan, Acheron and randomly typed names.

Whoo! I started late this season.

This will be my first poach for the month, but boy, is it a doozy!

I spotted lil510mofo shifting around on floors 1 and 2, and although I'm not partial to beating up on fishers, this one's been known to have made several appearences on the top 100 simply by beating up noobs that jump him, which is taking it TOO far.

The story behind this one is actually pretty funny...

See, lil510mofo's somewhat of a stat hoarder, doesn't play golds unless you jump him while he's fishing, so I didn't want to set him off with the Gold~Jumper tag (and incidentally jumped him on random noob name #1, jump!). There was only one problem in my foresight--jump! was on the "noob" default setup, as I had forgotten to change the setup after making the account!

lil510mofo also uses a dura-line rush, with a front-rank DSM, 3 Knights, Dragon, and 2 Scouts, which made things all the more difficult for me.

Expecting him to rush my 3 Knights, my Cleric, or even my Scout with his DSM, he instead targetted a rogue Pyro I had sent at him, at the expense of his Wisp and then his DSM (before he could use it a second time). From there, it became evident that his stats weren't a very accurate reflection of his skill--he did in fact win most of them by baitng people of less skill.

Instead of using his Mud to finish off my Cleric, he moved to my Witch's side and finished it off with a punch, and it was immediately killed; in the late game, he showed accurate knowledge of Dragon [sic] LoS, and managed to pick off a few units with his one healthy Scout and Dragon; his Knights served more as defense tanks until I wiped both his Scouts.

Overall, I'd rank this guy a mid-level poach, maybe mid-high. Maybe with a little training and ethics, I can refine this one. ;)

Ok.. So I'm just sitting around on a floor in GL, waiting for someone to jump me.

Then, this Gold jumps me... Lets have a look at this.. Not only is my screen name '20pt adjustment' (In honor of certain people..) but I also had 'Gold Jumpers' in pretty blue writing underneath that. But, alas, he verses me.

At first it appeared to be a tough match, considering he had all the right units in the front line to absolutely demolish me. He managed to take my DMW. Good on him....

Next thing he ACTUALLY takes a nice piece of bait I had set up (my lovely 2nd chanty). Anyway, to the point, here's the good stuff.

Assassin is great for fighting golds, of course, but having a lone pyro is often worthless, so She gets put in with witch. Witch is a way of matching gold attack power, but often you only get one or two good shots in before some massively ranged gold unit picks her off.

Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way. Eg; without my two Chanties. But, I'm guessing your talking about no-drop anti-gold forms. Before I got the Chanty drop, I found that the DMW and Assassin combination worked best. The DMW was often used for Cleric burns and the like, while the Assassin was a constant threat with its Ass-Bomb.

But, thats just personal preference. I could never used two Pyro's to their full advantage, which Bottle has pointed out on a few occasions.

Anyway, some more Gold blood has been spilled :cool: ..

I was actually trying to get my rating below 700 when this guy decides to jump me, then he starts telling me how my clan name is stupid, blah blah blah, but in the end it went quite good. He was actually a relatively nice guy, who gave credit and respect where it was due.

The problem with legends is that it takes 10 minutes for each move! I don't know how they can put up with the slow speeds!

Firstly, sorry about the double post. But I felt that this was needed. Ok, so this guy doesn't accept my challenges, but jumps other guys. Wrong choice.

So it took me about 25 minutes to get him, but when I eventually did, it was hilarious.

This is just a few moves into the match, and I've taken out his first Witch, and also took care of a potentially fatal Wisp.

I've yet to see the grey that I think could 'wreck' _bob_. From what I've seen, he's retired now. Every once in a while, he pops by and posts in RD, but for the most part he is inactive.

Wayf, I have yet to see the grey who could truly 'wreck' me. There are greys who are better, but not any that are that much better. I think you might want to reappraise Tilt's skill level. If _bob_ decided to make a page with all his gold kills, it would consist of well over a hundred images. I remember him hitting a hundred screenies a long way back, he just didn't post most of them.

geeky and hool, sorry to say it, but it is unlikely you'd get a chance to play _bob_, just as it is unlikely you'd get a chance to play Selah (another old-school Jumper). Either of you might have done well against him, but he's gone, and even if he did pop by, he'd probably be a tad rusty.

That sounds about right. He might have been willing to play you if you were a Gold Jumper at the time, or if you were in a tournament against him, but otherwise it would be difficult to play him. Same with me, typically; I prefer to play golds.

that pOtA guy is amazing, beating Moose and Aza as a grey. However, I doubt he could do as well on fps servers. Legends is waaay easier to beat golds as greys, and not only because greys get crazy drops like muds and frosts. But also because golds have only one scout, which is a greys worst enemy.

3 matches in Army, 3 wins. 2 of them were golds. I will not post their heads (and if I did, it would be in the Army GJ thread). The first was piggy14 (some number, anyhow), the match was so easy, I had Resc boot him from SI. I'm not quite sure how he got in in the first place; it was a brutal slaying, and he had challenged me! The second gold was ratslayer. He played a better match, but was still no match for me. I decided not to post his head because he was a good sportsman throughout. Perhaps some other time.

I have sighted Quattro and the 50 guy. Quattro wouldn't respond to my challenge, but I'll keep hunting.

Jeffery, I caught quattro in Army. He accepted my challenge, and represented himself quite well in our match. He was a good sportsman, but he was also luckier than me, with 3 front shots on knights (one a killing blow) and more than that on my scout and assassin. He said he plays golds. Is it possible you have him mispegged? (He beat me, BTW, but it was really a matter of his luck in that game).

Hehe, I have a good one here, no screenie and not my doing but a good one.

My older brother got jumped by norank (GL grey jumper). Since he is using a default currently (He got tired of kickin ass with proper formation).

Norank was about 1350 and had a bomb (ouch!). Anyways... My brother got him by 4 units with knight, pyro, CLERIC and CHANTY left :). With a default. That is one NICE poach!

After my brothers unbelievable kill, here comes a cherry on the top. I was bored at 1:30 am so I started to jump golds and stuff... I jumped everything that looked challengy. Flawlessed few netjak greys... One default... and 2 good grey games... jumped a grey jumper and flawlessed him... I dont have a s/s. He was called Illegalysanemonkey or so.. about 1150 currently.

Jumping and singing I spotted a real challenge! Chaosti waiting for a game! I jumped him and It was an opposite side match. He had an anti and I had my normal form. I waited for him and traded his Tyrant for my witch and knight. I injured several his units through the game... I got his wisp to 6hp, frosty to 6hp and muddy to 4hp...killed them later, which cost me my assasin and scout and took one of his scouts with them too.

It was down to his 2 scouts, knight, cleric, bw and my cleric, chanty, LW, BW and two knights. I cornered his knight and while he tried to kill one of my knights to set his knight free I moved up my chanty and inevitably froze his cleric, bw and scout. Then waited till my chantys waiting was over and set his 16 hp knight to run free all over the boards. I accidentaly missed him with my LW :rolleyes:... I didnt want his stats, I owed him a favour from back in the day... (about 8 months ago tried to trick him with the nigeria trick :p). Woot! A 1484 Elite gold by 6 units with my grey!

I played one of their greys yesterday, ubiquious, if I remember correctly. He didn't seem to know LT either. Has he been around recently? DL seems to lead the clan now...

My apologies in advance for this, but what I have to say merits a double-post. There are a few issues to deal with:

1- Zatoichi has been taken, and by the looks of it, by a noob. If you see Zatoichi on, pummel him into a bloody pulp. If someone held the clan for the wipe, leadership can be transferred to my alternate name: Wrath of Heaven. The password is the usual one.

2- Who has the clan right now? I wasn't around for the wipe, but Hool told me that it was transferred to someone before the wipe. Let's put it back where it belongs.

Apocalypse held leadership of Gold~Jumpers before the wipe. I'm not sure what account he has it on now, but I'll make sure to ask him.

Also, I spoke to AC/DC after being confronted with this privately. I have had conversations with him in the past, but they have always been on the Knights Leader account... I told him that if I heard anything like this happening again, he'd be expelled... Here is the basic outcome of the exchange:

When I play with my grey, I go on a secret name, jump only golds and very well known good greys. Its more challenging. And When there is no gold to play, I setup my grey form on my gold and let my self get jumped by a grey. The are mostly challenging. Fun :cool:

I took out a 1444 JW gold on Banff today as a gray.

Very long, well played antirush vs gray turtle game. He had a frontline 2 scout, 3 knight, wisp, frostie, muddie, cleric anti opposite side.

In the end I came out on top with 3 full knights, 32 hp scout, lw, and a cleric with 0 recovery. Had his knight, scout, and frostie cornered with a cleric in the corner but he surrendered. He had some insane luck too.
