Due to the early date of the wipe this month, the second Tao Race was cut to consist of only two rounds of eliminations. The results after the 2nd cut are final. Thank you for the interest / participation. :)
With a clear margin, Greyness is the winner of the Second Tao Race. Congratulations - quite a performance. Shiny, Terps, and CRX687 claim the 2nd through 4th place, as their entries survived to the very end.
I won't be running another Tao Race in the near future. It would be nice to have someone else coordinate the next one so that I too could participate, though. 8)

Rules - the same as in Tao Race #1.
1. Fresh grey accounts only. Tournament started at the Dec 2nd wipe. New entries were accepted until the first cut, on Dec 13th.
2. Eliminations every four days or so. First one approx one week after the wipe.
2a. First cut took place as scheduled, on Dec 13th.
2b. Second cut approx. on Dec 17th.
2c. Third cut approx. on Dec 21st.
2d. Fourth cut approx on Dec 29th. No eliminations on Xmas eve.
2e. The fifth cut will take place on January 2nd, 2005, unless a wipe occurs before that time.
3. At each cut, all those who have failed to improve their ratings since the week before are eliminated. Of those who have made improved, the one with the lowest rating is eliminated. At the first elimination, 750 is the line of non-improvement as that is accessible without playing a single game.
4. Victory conditions:
- if only one player remains s/he wins.
- if all remaining players are eliminated simultaneously, the winner is the highest-rated amongst those with improvement since the week before; if none improved, then simply the highest-rated remaining participant.
- if some participants remain at the tournament to the very end, the one with the highest rating in the last elimination wins.
