Alchemist's are a rare breed indeed. Though physically weak, they rely on the power of science and spells to stay alive
Alchemist
HP:32
Armor:0
Blocking:30% (15%)
Movement:3
Recovery:3
Attack:21 (unblockable)
Range:3 (same as pyro)
Attack Pattern: Like an X
O O O O O O
O X O X O O
O O X O O O
O X O X O O
O O O O O O
The alchemist uses a bottle, full of chemicals, to attack his opponent. The targeted space (middle spot) is the only spot that takes damage. The other spots are infected with a very thick smoke. The smoke causes a new affect called confusion. The smoke only affects melee oponents (magic users are too "wise" to be confused, this includes focus users like frosty, stoney, chanty, posion wisp, etc.) When confused, you have a 60% chance to attack yourself. The confused affect lasts for 3 of your opponents turns. Take note, that you can confuse your own units, so watch out when you attack...Another thing, If a mud golem is confused, it can not use the mud quake, only its basic physical punch
Some may call this a useless unit, but the way i see it, confusing an enemy unit makes your opponent more uncomfterable. Is he that desperate to attack with a confused unit? Even if he doesnt attack, thats still 2 more turns of confusion, so you are holding your opponents unit at bay while your other units recovery from past attacks. 60% is alot, but works only on the meele characters.

when compared to a pyromancer, this unit seems to be similar, but with higher stats and a slightly different attack shape.

2 more HP and 3% less blocking evens up with the pyros health and blocking More attack, but only damages 1 unit. still, 32 HP with 30% blocking and no armor is not hard to kill
The funny thing though, i was thinking about the pyro the whole timewhile making this unit :D I didnt want the attack patteren to be the same though

ah i didnt see the bit where only middle space takes damage.
not bad then, but confusion is blatantly copied from pokemon...making you a POKENOOB

Hmm.. I think it all looks pretty good, the idea is excellent but the stats may have to be played with a little, but hey, haven't all good units been revised a little? :)

seems like an overall good unit. I like the power of it ( and its not a 1 hit kill cleric deal.. =P''

hell it's a great unit...the only thing though is that its attack pattern is werid, but at least it's not like a pyro's. Dude walrus, you think this man copied an idea? He said he never even played that pokecrap game, so how is he supposed to know what confusion is in that? hope to see another unit some time soon tab's and walrus, i hope you respect people's good ideas more rather than accusing them of stealing ideas when they dont

no.
sensui, the "confusion" stuff this alchemist had is identical to the one in the pokemon games, thats not jumping to conclusions. if i make a unit called aragorn, people would say i copied the name from LOTR, even if i had never heard or read it before.

First of, i know u cant say that because you are too stuborn and blind to see good units
Second, you did jump to conclusions cause you "blantantly" accused me of copying this unit's ability of a game i have never played
And guess what, I garentee you wouldnt name a unit aragorn if you never heard of LOTR, because aragorn is a person, not a thing so that defeats your point of view

That made no sense...Aragorn is a main character in a award winning movie and is not an ability nor a type of fighter...If you were a warrior in a game, and someone asked "what type of warrior are you", you would respond like "Im a barbarian"...you wouldnt say "I'm an Aragorn"

ok change "aragorn" to "nazgul", happy? little nitpicking dumbasses...
tab, if you bothered reading my comments on units you would see that i do appreciate good units, kyirs "rivers end" being a fine example. i dont care that all the people new to CAU think im mean and blind, elder members know the truth, as do i.

I'll vouch for that, mon ami. You are definitely not blind when it comes to assessing unit designs.

Yeah, us elder members know the truth. Walrus isn't mean and blind, he's mean blind and deaf.

huh? I guess im too much of a "nitpicking dumbass" to understand that rather confusing post :(
And i've been playing TAO since Nov 2003, is that not "elderly"?
Office_Shredder

You have to have made a version of TAO in 2002 or earlier and been playing that until TAO came out, then started playing TAO to be considered "elder"
