To me it is annoying to have the random selection of who moves first. Because then you feel you have no control in the matter, so I propose instead maybe a rock, paper, scissor type thing where I actually feel like I'm doing something to get the advantage of going first instead of just being lucky or unlucky. Or heck even a pick a number between 1 and 10 and whoever gets closer goes first would be better than what they have what now. I like to try and elimanate as much luck from my game as possible and just being randomly selected is kinda irratating.

Um, selecting numbers and RPS are also luck based. The only strategy in picking numbers is 5 is closest to both ends.

Your suggesting replacing luck with another kind of luck, but one that will require people to do something before a game even begins. Stallers would just use it to annoy people too.

If you did a number 1-10, you'd still be upset because who got to chose first would have to be set by luck as well, because the first person would almost always choose five.

The point of the random turn thing is to keep the first turn for a different player each time. But, I think there is some kind of pattern. On my gold, I've only gone first, like 2 times before vs. greys.

But, if you want to go first all the time, play yourself over and over. :p

RPS is not really totally luck; there is a major psychological factor involved. Still, this is a really stupid idea.

psychological factor for RPS? I doubt that applies when the game is played online, when the opponents don't have any direct contact with each other...

There is little to no psychological effect on the first round of RPS. maybe in subsequent rounds, but that's about it.
