Well, this is certainly TAO related, but I have no idea where to put it, except by reasoning that only those who have money have a reason to visit this forum. Anyway, I was wondering about TAO Gaming, Inc, which is apparently a new corporation. Who's the CEO? Is stock it for sale? What's the ticker symbol? I want a piece of the pie!

Companies are rarely traded publically, and almost never have CEO's unless they are very large.
TAO Gaming was invented to seperate the game from Flash Player Studios. Probably so that the pie wouldn;t have tol be shared.

hey , if u really think that only ppl with money should b getting into this game's forum, then why dont u ask ur self how many ppl have gold acc's.is not even close to 30%
most of the ppl just get a free acc.

There were 30,000 to 40,000 accounts per main server.
This totals out at about 100,000 accounts total. I have seen it as high as 200,000 before a wipe.
Sure. most of these are silly accounts, multiple accounts, and unused accounts. But they are still part of the database.

Yeah, I figured the stock isn't for sale. I guess the only way to invest is by subscription. Let me know when that IPO comes around, though. A few clanmates and I were pondering those very figures above and figured 1400 golds at $5 a month should be making someone a pretty decent paycheck. But out of idle curiosity, who is pocketing my $5/month? There are a lot of entities to distinguish. Just what are the relationships bewteen Flash Player Studios, SeeD, Digital Seed Entertainment, TAO Gaming, Inc, tacticsarena.com and digisonline.com? Are these two or three seperate companies, or is SeeD just a kingpin? Just good to know where your cash is going, eh?

Oh, and I only meant that people with money will have gold accounts, and therefore have any interest in "gold account help" This denies the existence of bored lurkers, et al, but there's no "business info" forum and this seemed more appropriate than General.

Your $5 pays for Seed as the developer, 3 flash com servers, web site servers, web site, and flash licensing.
The pocket change left is for TAO Gaming.

Well I really dont care who gets the 5 bux a month myself, it probably doesnt add up to much. Even if there are 1400 gold members a month, thats only $7000 dollars a month before expenses. I mean, if each server is hooked up to a T-1 line, that expense is about 1500-2000 dollars a month, depending on the provider. Then you actually have to pay for the servers, + I think Bill is getting a check, and you have to compenate the creator(seed), and if you want new development, this isn't free. Probably, if they are lucky , you are actually profitting a couple grand a month. Not to mention, dealing with all the whiners who are having problems every day with their accounts. The bottom line is, compared to Road Runner, which is 45 a month X 30 million customers. 1400 X 5 bux, isnt exactly the biggest pie in the fridge. Spend the 5 bux 4 chrissakes, its cheaper than a cup of coffee these days lmao.

Actually, each server does NOT need it's own t-1 line. They also rent the servers, not own. There is no new developement, besides that which Seed provides as part of the license payments.
A flashcom server runs you about $500 a month each x 3. Webserver and databases, plus licensing for flash and Seed, and bandwidth are the other costs.

The servers can go anywhere from 2000-5000$ a month, 500 dollars is just a regestered fee etc.

Anyways we can thank a certain someone *cough* for the increase in bandwidth use :)

Favor for Jeffery

Tis Jeffery,
The info, INCLUDING PRICING, is straight from the company TAO uses for hosting. The servers start at $500 a month WITH Flash license. That is for 250 connections per server.
Even after bandwidth costs, each server should be about $750 a month.

And these are also the costs that were once confirmed by DR as the costs for the new servers TAO was looking at."
