Paragon of bravery, the champion is the first in the woof of battle. An inspiration to his fellow soldiers, a terror to the enemy - a headache to the more careful commander.
Champion
Human male warrior
HP: 56
Armor: 21
Blocking: 84/42
Movement: 4
Power: 21
Ready: 1
Attack pattern: Assassin
Special:
If the Champion is able to move or attack, you may not use any other unit.

Why WOULD I use another unit?
More HP, armor, blocking, movement, power, and attack pattern than a knight. You'd be a fool to not move him

but being FORCED to use it every second turn (assuming it attacks every turn) or every single turn if you just move it.
thats instantly half your turns gone.

No, that's half my turns going into a 24 damage assassin attack coming from the hardest unit in the game to kill. This guy with two clerics would be insta-death.
Again, I ask why you would NOT want to use him

maybe give him 2 recovery?

This unit could end up in a maze of heavy blockers, barrier protected units, and shrubs, leaving the controller to decide whether to waste a turn or to send a unit in so deep that the frosty will freeze him and death will soon follow. Not a nice choice to make every second turn.
I'd rather keep the wait at 1 as that is also a part of the problem one has with this unit. I'll trim some other stats a bit, though, to make the Champion a little less overpowering.

Definitely more balanced.
Kensai, you seem to forget a little strategy called the "rush". This guy would fit in there like a hand in a latex glove

And, how well would you say a hand fits in a latex glove?
I can think of my other thing that fits well in latex, if you get what I mean ;).

I don't forget rushing. I actually created this unit specifically for it. It would be worse than useless in a turtle. Enemy witch closing in... oops, can't zap / dragonburn her as the Champion insists on attacking. And then she's protected with a barrier, and the opportunity is gone.

[FONT=Franklin Gothic Medium][COLOR=DarkRed]Hmmmmmm.....seems like a decent unit design. I like it :) .
so if it was parelized but his rec. was up what would happen

Good point. If the Champion is paralysed, obviously you should be able to use the rest of your army even if he's Ready. I'll rephrase the rule.
