Well, I am sure a few of you remember certain shenanigans last month over at Tactics Fan. Long story short, it prompted me to get off my butt and redo the site.
http://tacticsfan.com is getting there. The site is open, and a new forums installed. I am still working on the site, so expect additions as I get working on it.
I do have Abyaly's TAO Damage Calculator loaded, although it is not updated for the Assassin attack or poison wisp yet.
And 5 points to the first person to see the huge typo on the pages.

Your graphics are worse then a pure html layout. You used premade java scripts from dynamicdrive. By the looks of it, you never even looked at the HTML, considering it was made in a website designer.
No offence or anything, but why not make one from scratch, google the things you need to know, it gives you a better sense of satisfaction at the end. Try not using graphics at all, use tables and css stylist.

and you said "add new assassin attack" to TAO calculator. um...its 99 every time.
Jeffery
12-22-2004, 10:01 PM
Actually, you are wrong. completely.
The only premade javascript is the non-right click (as a joke) and the count down timer.
The page itself was built, not using any generator. But oh, I forget your a web god! You own multiple businesses and run the best websites in the world!
Gee, and I beleive that about as much as I believe you left TAO the dozens of times you swore you were going to.
Go away n00b.
And yes meat it is, but usually those needing the calculator are those who don;t know things like that.

true dat. though i have looked at it, seldom use it (only for tourneys sometimes to be absolutely sure). I do have one question: did you create it? because, frankly, its quite well done.
EDIT: re-read the first message. answered my own question. Good job Abyaly, wherever you are.
No offence or anything.
Lol.

I think the best way to describe Scroll Lock isnt "noob" or "jackass" or "moron". I think its 'snoot.' or 'snob.' somethign along those lines.

Do you still have Google ads going on there so we can support the site?
truffleshfl
12-22-2004, 10:29 PM
This doesn't happen to me a lot, but I actually took offence to what Scroll Lock said about the website. Mainly because, I designed it and made the flash menu (with Xe's help) from scratch.
Scroll, mind showing us some of your master-pieces?

First off, let me say, no offence was ment by what i said. You just blatantly insult at first impulse.
Now, as for the first quote. Its still a stolen script!!
Second quote:
nbsp; is not used in scratch code cause its not very good. It doesn't work in alot of versions of linux, and all it does is add a empty space. A simple gif is more efficient.
Table_01 looks nothing but generated to me! Especially cause thats the only one, no 02, no 03, just 01!
Complete LCase code is extremely hard to read when making a site from scratch.
The fact that height, width, alt properties exist even when null is puzzling to me. Considering its a total waste of kb.
Now this is not proof, but www.cannon-designs.com is also mentioned at the end, i don't know if thats some kiddie site you have, but the names on the registrar are different from site to site. However cannon-designs.com is also pathetic. O WAIT!! LMFAO, okay, so heres the deal, cannon-designs.com is the same code as tacticsfan.com. Knew there was something to it. Although this proves nothing.
So the codes the same, and i all but proved however did impact considerably that its not scratch code. So please tell me, i'm very interested, whats your affiliation with cannon-designs?
Scroll Lock
12-22-2004, 10:37 PM
Okay, so whos affiliated with cannon-designs, cause its the same code, and the code is generated.
Also, i have one site right now, an online pharmacy, i doubt you have any interest in that.

How do you consider it a stolen script, when it is a sharescript and is properly credited?
And, if by generated, you mean he used Dreamweaver to make the page, then yes, it is generated. But it was built using Dreamweaver, and uses many of the common factors dreamweaver uses.
Everything the site uses is properly accedited, as I am not someone who boasts on others works.
Why don;t I built it myself from scratch? Because that is not a talent I possess (and still doubt you do, as all you have ever done is criticise people, and have yet to show ANYTHING you have bragged about)
Your comment on the "stolen" script is proof you know nothing.

yes, it is generated.
I rest my case and won't post in this topic anymore, any true programmer doesn't use a program to assist or do the work for him.
Jeffery
12-22-2004, 11:08 PM
And yet "true programmers" use Dreamweaver MX 2004 every day. Dreamweaver is a building engine, which requires knowledge and talent to use. Something you will never achieve.
Again, you brag yourself up, and have yet to offer any proof. You always talk about all your greatness, and as of yet, have shown nothing of your wonderful abilities.
Gee I wonder why you have no proof?
Next post from you will be about some random site you will claim to have made, but that's ok. No one has believed anything you have said for months.

I rest my case and won't post in this topic anymore, any true programmer doesn't use a program to assist or do the work for him.
I'll have you know Dreamweaver assisted in the building of the Genesis page.
Your statement is inherently flawed, as a programer works with programs to help them in thier work. C++ assists by compiling the information. Notepad assists as well, in some rudimentary cases.
Unless you expect a programmer to do his work using a tiny magnet, and charging the places on the hard drive where he would like a '1' instead of a '0', then.. .well... you get the point.
Scroll Lock
12-22-2004, 11:57 PM
... I could write an entire program in notepad, c++ compiler, never touching MSC++, however enviroments don't do things for you. I can realize where my statement could be taken out of context in that way. You do need a program of some sort to write anything. However when it does it for you...

12-22-2004, 11:59 PM
Also I find someone who takes a bit of a quote to prove something (Example: It is generated) Without providing the surrounding context, which, when provided, changes the entire meaning of the quote (Example: And, if by generated, you mean he used Dreamweaver to make the page, then yes, it is generated. But it was built using Dreamweaver, and uses many of the common factors dreamweaver uses.) absolutly disgusting.

12-23-2004, 12:01 AM
however i didn't need to quote the context, cause i was just saying it was generated, and he admited it, flat out
Jeffery
12-23-2004, 12:02 AM
Dreamweaver is useless to those who know nothing. It is useful for those who know some, and veyr usefull to those who know a lot.
It is a tool (a very well designed tool) that allows you to spend more time working on substance, and less on mechanics.
And all you do is brag about your skills, and as yet, have not shown anything you have "created". Your very comment about stolen scripts again proved you an idiot, as nothing on my site was stolen.
xerent
12-23-2004, 12:02 AM
It dosen't do it for you, not unless you use something pre-made. You STILL have to specify everything... the program just fills in the syntax.
Are you saying that a true programmer is one who does the syntax himself?
Jeffery
12-23-2004, 12:04 AM
however i didn't need to quote the context, cause i was just saying it was generated, and he admited it, flat out
It was BUILT in a design program. It was not "generated" by a page builder.
The fact that youi wish to nitpick wordings is proof you can do no better.
Let's see this wonderful pharmay you built? Or is that as much bull as everything else you have bragged about?
Scroll Lock
12-23-2004, 12:09 AM
There ya go xerent, i was looking for the right words.
A programmer knows the syntax of the language he/she is working with, or is willing to learn and not let someone/something else do it for them.
Jeffery, i sent truffleshfl a quick shot of my layout in photoshop, although proving nothing, i refuse to send you the URL to the website the layout belongs to. I have legal issues to be bothered with, as well as partners that i don't want to disapoint. If you have any suggestions aside for sending you the URL, i am open.
Jeffery
12-23-2004, 12:14 AM
Ahh, More excuses. Keep them coming. So far everytime you bragged about something, when it came time for proof, you backed off. Your inability to actually do anythingn besides talk hot air is all the proof anyone needs.

I have to admit, It did look pretty good. But I'd much rather see it on a webpage.
Jeffery
12-23-2004, 12:18 AM

So you are going to deprive me, a possible customer, the link to the site? I am in need of tylonal (er however you spell it...). 5 hours of pretty much non-stop jamming with 2 other guitars, a bass, and myself is a bit much. :)
But really... what kind of "Legal Issues" could possible prevent you from giving out a URL? The "screenshot" you gave doesn't even have content in it. That could have easily been quickly made up in Fireworks (what I use) so I assume it would be just as easy to do in a few minutes on photoshop as well.

Yeah, you could make that in PhotoShop pretty easily. In fact, you could probably make something that looked better.

Oh! Tama send me a sample I wanna hear. Is it A7X screaming?
Tama Drummer
12-23-2004, 01:04 AM
I don't have a sample... :( Cause I didn't bring my computer with, but the other guys (at least one of them) recorded some stuff I know.
Yea, I guess it's kind of like A7X screaming. But he's got a good non-screaming voice too. I wanna get a chick to sing though... that'd be niiiiice. :)
But even if I did have some music here, I have no clue how to upload it to the web. I've tried with a small drum solo of myself. I just couldn't do it... Dumb mac.
Edit: WTF? I spelled A7X as A7F!!!!!

Yea, exactly, i have no way to prove its my own work.
Also, to those who say its simplistic. The art of professional sales websites is basic, the layout needs to be clean, light, and easy to navigate. The colors need to compliment each other. I would like to see someone make a layout that looks half as decent, in a professional manner.
http://www.aol.com/
http://www.overstock.com/
Most any website that has customers is simplistic and easy to navigate. Also, there is stuff on that site that doesn't appear when you just look at it, if you magnify the layout a few times and look at the bars(i don't know if you noticed at 100%), the top bars have an outer glow, bolding them. The top 2 bars also have a carbon fiber texture implied in the design.
I have a website ive been working on that is currently still in the photoshop stage that isn't as simplistic, its trendwhore. The basic shapes are still simplistic, but it takes still to make trendwhore work. I'm still trying to learn. I'll get you a shot of that, hold up.

Some will like this style, some won't. I like it alot, thats why i want to learn it more in depth. Search google for trendwhore images. Some of the work looks so intense.
