Your wards are placed in a position where they can zap each
other. Should you or shouldn't you?

No! Let the opponent waste his time with it, I usually never do tho. While he attacks my ward, I just attack him :D

I always use my lightning ward to take out units off the start, and protection for my units at the end.
I've killed so many witches first turn with it. :D

What a waste. If your lightning wards are in proximity just leave it. As it was said earlier on the thread, just let him hit and then make him pay for it. Besides it makes way to good a magic killer.

People tend to keep their witches up front.
If you're in the right spot, first turn witch kill.
There goes their cleric killer. :)

Kill the stupid thing o0 the die EASY if you know how to kill them.

I believe what Eldar is referring to is to paralyze them, probably preferrably with a Frost Golem, and then just melee it.

in all the battles i have played, even when my and my opponents wards were together, my lightning ward never died...

must have not played that many.
mine has died about 3 times at least (one was absolutely bent on killing it... he paid for that.)
Most be people don't bother trying to kill it since they are tough and it's easier to keep out of it's way. I think that I've had mine destroyed 5 times out of 125 games. It would have been less but sometimes I don't bother trying to keep them from killing it and instead focus on getting hits in on their units.

I've had several games where the other person tried to take out my ward.
While they attacked it, I killed their other units.
I've lost my LW 10 times or so, but won every game by using this tactic.

Heh. I love it when new people try to attack my LW with knights or scouts. They always wonder why they always seem to miss!

If they're new I tell them after the first try. I don't tell them how to hurt it, just that whatever attacked it can't.

So you make the pretention of being a helpful father figure in the game, while making him pay for his mistakes. Brilliant. Learning the hard way is the best way to learn, and you benefit from looking like a nice guy.

I'm not sure how to take this.
I tell people when they've made a mistake, so they won't repeat it.
But I'm not gonna tell them what to do ahead of time. It's a game. We're both supposed to play, not me play both turns. :)
Anybody here give people advice, kill my witch, you should attack my cleric?
I am nice to people, I help them when I can. But I can't read the rules for them, and explain how everything works, can I? How am I supposed to know when somebody will attack my LW? I tell them after the first time, that's the most you could expect from anybody.
Thanks for mentioning your opinion. It's always good to get a different perspective on something you're doing. :)

I can't remember losing a game when my LW was destroyed...it is only worth zapping it if they have no cleric, you only have a few units, and they are protecting themselves with the LW. Mostly it is just a waste of useful turns and the recovery of the LW.

My tower gets destroyed all the time.
I just use the time to take out the other persons units.

it's really funny when enemies spend all their magic users on killing your lightning ward while you spend your time killing their magic users

And when they blast it with their LW, I can now walk up to it without fear and level their guys with the witch.

Honestly if I was going to try and kill something that I think is the most important I would think it would be the cleric because it's more like the king of the game. The LW is just... a piece... it's even worse when someone comes up with a knight or something and tries to attack and then starts to cuss you out when you tell them it has 100% blocking... I guess some people never learn... oh well:rolleyes:

I petition that both the lightning ward and barrier ward have 99% blocking, and count as units that have to be destroyed to win the game. That would spice a few things up.

thats insane, lol

ya sure it would spice things up but the draw would be stupid if u have one knight and 1LW he has the barrier and he casts it on himself or u go in with the knight and he has lightnin ward then zaps your guy it would be lighnting ward against lightning ward unless they in range automatic draw i think that would be just plain stupid

theres no point-
it would just add to the flaws in the blocking system (in other words, more people would complain- DO WE WANT THAT?)
becides, its pure metal- only magic could get it- although i don't see how fire could
i'd have to agree with the other posts though-
the LW isn't that important- i rank it lower than my assassin and knights

Fire melts the metal structure.
It can be important.
To blast out a magic unit right off the start.
And as protection to keep units from attacking your guys.
And if they do attack, they certainly pay for it.
