I have been playing this game since it started, and a member of these forums for over a year now, and I have seen all the highs and lows of Tactics, but now it' s too much. This game is overrun with "V3ter@nZ".

Back when TAO still started, everyone was a newbie. In those good days, things were fine and simple with many brilliant newbie strategies such as cleric rushes, or attacking your own barrier. But then, the newbies started leaving or turning into V3ter@nZ and every day, we keep getting more of these seasoned players. People started being way too courteous and fair instead of old fashioned trash talking. There have even been cases where players allowed each other to go again if they misclicked. This is utter pansiness in a game meant for brutal n00b tactics.

It's gotten to critical point now and something really needs to be done. For a while, the admins saw this problem and made a few changes. They made a filter, so these people wouldn't see what we were saying and try and respond in an intelligent manner to ruin our fun. They made Revelation server, so that these annoying v3ter@nZ would stay in their own quarantined area and fight amongst themselves, but that was not able to stem the continous onslaught of players getting smarter. Then, even the greys got skilled and there was nothing we could do.

Now, it's a lot harder for newbs to have a game where you can accidentally freeze all your own knights with your enchantress and still live. Once, I told some guy to press F5, but then he just laughed and told me he was playing too long to fall for it. I mean seriously, what the hell is going on. When I signed up, the player quality of this game was absolutely amateur. As of today nearly half the game is full of old school players, and the forums are riddled with members with ridiculously high post counts.

If you admins don't start wising up and being more strict on these V3ter@nz and kicking them/disabling their gold accounts and inviting newbs back...you're really running a risk turning your back to all those who worked hard to spam your forums and chat rooms and didn't contribute a single cent to support your servers, and then what are you going to do huh? Think about it.

That's only a temporary solution to a reccuring problem. I think there should be a rule that if you're above a certain rating, you're only allowed to play while inebriated. Or we should start injecting people with newbie serum.

I think a solid whack with a 5Lbs mallet to the old noggin should do it. Maybe 2 or 3 whacks for a few ppl just to be sure.

Sorry, pretending can only go so far. We need professional newbs before I can be convinced TAO is redeemed. We used to have H()()T, but he grew up or something and lost all his old glory.

Today's newbies aren't bad enough. They learn too quickly because so many cruel people are available to teach them. Since when being good become a positive? Just goes to show the way our values change when members become arrogant.

edit: Newb mocking? this is exactly the kind of attitude that is making all the terrible players leave and subsequently improving the quality of this game. I will not have it!

It's nice that some people are trying to revive the noob movement, but I'm afraid the problem is much deeper than what a few artificial changes could fix. I have not had ONE bad game against a newbie, staller, or whatever, and so many grays are no longer complaining that the only reason I win is because I have an extra drop. What's with this passive acceptance. Come on people, it isn't how you play the game, it's whether you win or lose. And you should be damn angrily throwing tantrums when you lose, as well as gloating when you win!
