A REAL Clan Discussion

My clan history is pretty simple, because I'm quite simply loyal to the very end in whatever clan I'm in, with one exception. I started in -regdar's clan, the Thieves Guild. The only reason I moved out of it, after discussing it with reggie, was because this was when Ele and I had just started playing, and we wanted to be in the same clan.

So, I switched to the darken-elves, where she was, run by dark_ash_h50. When LK decided to kill that clan, I didn't take it very well, and I stayed, despite being the only active member. I managed to bring back many of the older players, before finally admitting that the clan was dead.

Around that time, I tried out for the prestigious clan The Elite. Though I never felt that I was quite good enough to be in it, I had my moments often enough that Warcow thought it'd be worth it to have me in. It was one of the prouder moments in my TAO life.

Now, however, I've gone grey. Perhaps temporarily, perhaps permanently. Even if The Elite doesn't die with Warcow and resurgent247 gone, they accept golds only. When the next wipe comes, I'm clanless.

Why am I telling you this? I'm looking for a clan. I've been given several offers, but I haven't yet decided who I will give my loyalty to. Once I do though, it will never be taken away. My TAO clan is like my family, and I will stick to it until the bitter end.

This will be one of the toughest decisions I'll ever make, I know. I have very good friends in all the top clans, and I've been given standing invitations to all of them, I believe. I think I've narrowed it down to KOTR, NJ, SI, and BG. Give me a good reason to choose yours. I'm open to suggestions, as long as they're valid suggestions.

I know this could get ugly, since the clans I'm interested in traditionally do not get along well. Whatever you do, DON'T post something saying "whatever you do, don't choose (insert clan here)." You can have your personal likes and dislikes, just don't try to get me to choose based on petty disagreements. If you have something good to say about a clan, say it. If you have something bad to say, keep your ****in' mouth shut.

2/4 of those choices are great ones. BG is the best clan on the server and has the best most active players. It is also a very well respected and long standing clan as all the other choices are. BG has well respected players who love the game. We endorse friendship and good matches. SI stands for basically the same concepts. The trade off is that it is a smaller clan on GL but has an effect that goes throughout all the servers including Legends. Its your choice and im sure that you can way the pros and cons yourself. The only problem that I have with netjak is that if you make another account on any server it must be in Netjak.. Which ties you down. I guess if 100% loyalty is the only way to go for you though that rule wont apply. Good luck clan finding!!

Well, I think I know exactly what you mean when you say that you're simply quite loyal to whatever clan you join, because that's exactly what I have with BG. BG was the first clan I ever joined, back in January of last year, and to tell you the truth, I honestly can't imagine seeing my name associated with any other clan, either in the blue under my name on the battle field, or on my banner on the forums. There are some people who join a clan because of it's status among the other clans, and some because of one or more people in the clan. I joined initially because Ach had started the clan. I was still a Grey, and the clan feature had just been released. I don't even know if I planned on staying in the clan, but now I can't ever imagine leaving it. I've been with BG throughout it's whole history. Through it's ups and downs, and it's highs and lows. I'm not gonna try and sell you BG like a door to door salesman, and pitch it off to sound infinitely better than what it actually is, and I'm not gonna trash KoTR, netjak, or SI, because I have friends in all of them, as do you, and it's very uncharacteristic of me to talk ill of other clans that I know have great perks themselves. Overall, I think that any decision you make will be the right one, and that you'll enjoy your stay with any of them. I don't know how much of an impact I could have on you just by posting, but I figure that it's worth a try if there's a possibilty you'll join. I know that I would love having you as a clan mate, as would all your other friends, current and potential, in Bushido Gaiden, but the choice is in your hands. All I can guarentee is that if you join BG, you'll have fun with us, have some great clan games with us, and laugh your ass off at and with us. We know how to play, we know how to have fun, and we know how to really gain camaraderie. Another thing I know is that you'll be able to stay in BG for as long as you want, because I have the same sense of loyalty to a clan I join as you do, and as long as I have a say in anything, BG isn't going anywhere. Been here a year, and we're here to stay. Good luck with your decision Glam, I know that whatever choice you may make, it'll be the right one for you. :)

Almost anytime you're in the lobby good conversations arise in the clan chat, making any time, even when you're in a boring game or jumped by a noob, an enjoyable time. We don't put high emphasis on stats because we care more about the skill of the actual player, and more importantly the potential. We have the most succesful training clan in existance that I know of. We are constantly trying to help each other with any problems we have. All of our members are great people, great players, and great companions you can really get close to.

If you're on GL, definitely join BG. You don't even have to play other members for a good time, they're always having a laugh riot, and I would know ;)

I really can't say anything bad about the other clan that isn’t just personal. Glamdring I don’t know much about but have heard the name. Netjak is not for everyone. We are a clan that either you like us or you don't, no in between. I believe we do have the best run clan and our leadership ring is phenomenal. Netjak is full of awesome very skilled players. What stands us out among the rest is our leadership and values. Twelve started this clan with values in mind before hand and not once have we waivered them. I believe this is the sole reason netjak has been a force to be reckoned with from day one of creation. Since the creation in January 04' we have never had a down or slump period as most clans have. One reason I think we haven't is because of our leadership staying on top and making sure bases are covered before taking vacations or breaks.

If you are looking for a clan that will not only be here for a long time but will always be a clan that other people are watching. Then netjak is your place.

If you are looking for a clan where we become like family and not only share game experiences but life issues as well. The netjak is your place.

If you are looking for a clan that demands loyalty, then netjak is your place.

The main reason i play is to be able to get advice and help from my fellow players and netjakkers. In NJ, you can be sure ur clan mates will be there to help you through anything.

I'm afraid that won't be possible.

Netjak is family, if ur in, you can be sure we'll stick by u to the end, but we also expect you to be 100% netjak. As a family, we simply don't believe in multiple loyalties. So netjakkers cannot have accounts in any other clan. And this goes for all the servers. However, since we are a dominant prescence on all 5 servers, u'd be guaranteed a good clan on any server u go on ;)

Glam, if you would care to take 2 minutes and check the KoTR thread in Clan Discussion, you would see a clan that is intellectual and funny. I have just finished explaining Cramer's Rule and matrices to our younger members studying algebra. For comedy, just log onto Banff and hear my ranting in clan discussion. Its a blast. Oh, and the alcohol is free. :cool: :cool:

Max is right, the clans ur looking at have their own threads all over this forum. I reccomend you visit some of them to get an idea of wut these clans truly are like, instead of just hearing our obviously biased opinions. :cool:

Man.. You have a lot of great choices to make if you plan on staying on GL.. If I were clanless on GL I think I would have to decide between BG and Netjak though... Yes I know I that is a surprise coming from me, but honestly, reading your post you have loyalty and are looking for people to be, well in better terms stuck with.

Now I like Kotr.. No suprises there.. and they need people who are loyal to join. From what I hear though the leader of the clan is not affiliated with KoTr of old and that being the case I don't know what values he/she promotes. Now Si on GL yeah we are growing in numbers and would love for you to join us. But as far as Gl goes it is like a tide.. ppl stay ppl go.. clan hoppers / one month only golds / other clans trying to get in.. Not that the clan is a joke.. but it has more drama than a clan outta.

Now the two I would pick between, (BG and NJ case you forgot), both of the clans on GL promote a clan like atmosphere.. If your used to be in the elite, and can keep the stats up you might favor NJ.. If your want to have fun and mentor players and have a good stats I would say BG.

Both BG and Netjak have been around for the long haul, not to say that Si or Kotr haven't or wouldn't be good choices.. But placing myself outside of my clan and looking at the choices this is how I see it. Hope you enjoy your time with whomever you join.

Well, as my hero, I will give you the best advice I know: Find someone you get along with and join the same clan as them. Personally, I like Netjak (although I don't play anymore :( ) But if I was you, I know leaving GL would be hard, but I would transfer to Banff to join Netjak considering Hugh is there. It's where we started and still pretty much is the best, considered the "personality" arm of netjak. But I have no problem with BG, in fact, when I first joined netjak on GL with Squiggly, they tried recruiting me out to protect Squiggly's reputation, no knowing both my identities. And they had good clan discussion.
SI would also be a good choice. The best thing SI and netjak have going for them is the amount of older people who are part of the clan. It brings maturity, leadership, and a better sense of clanship to them. KOTR, well, "Whatever you do, don't choose them." :) They just don't seem stable enough to me since Say What? left....
There's my two cents. Or you could join Gold Jumpers and go home again.

Glam plays on GL, where the KOTR hasn't anything to do with you people. You did say you're coming over... and now i'm anxious.... but i'm still waiting.
