Let this be a lesson... You punks better not indignify or preoccupy those congressmen anymore... they might not drop it next time :p

i think its hilarious they tried to pass this,
a mall near here tried to do that once, and lost a million dollar court battle because of it. Its constitutionally unsound

I live in VA, sure says a lot about my state. *sigh*
And shouldn't arresting people for being nude in public be un-constitutional?

It doesn't necessarily need to be, Serge. Indecent exposure is already a criminal offense, whether or not it's unconstitutional won't make it any more or less a crime.

Actually, if the statutes making indecent exposure were for some reason deemed unconstitutional, then it would no longer be a crime. But generally, the federal judiciary cannot "police" the laws of the states.
AAARGH, LAW SCHOOL!! YOU'RE IN MY BRAIN AND I CAN'T GET YOU OUT!

boxers, bras, briefs, whatever, are not considered indecent exposure.
Nudity is what your thinking of.
You can go our with nothing but a roll of brown paper surrounding ur body. As long as nothing is hanging out or showing, its not indecent exposure.
Granted there's some interpretation, and Cali IS a bit looser with that interpretation than likely many more...hate to use a label...but consevative places might be.
edit: fed government can't police the laws, but once a person is arrested or punished from this law they can appeal to the courts for a review of it. THATS what happened here. Guy was shopping in a mall, the mall booted him out, he filed a suit, took it up to the State Supreme court and won it finally.
edit2: i'm just waiting for one of the many law students we seem to hav here to correct me...I'm not a CRJ or law student :) so I'm sure i got something wrong there.

There are many law students here? I've met 1 other, and she doesn't play any more. If you ARE out there, for the love of god, I need a shoulder to collapse on!
Oh, and Mega, you've got it mostly right. Only certain statutes can be appealed, but yeah, you're 99.99% right on. Someone said (or I saw?) that your name is Ed? So is mine. Weird.

They should have created legislation banning plumber's crack. That's the real crime against humanity.

Heck yeah. Stupid plumbers! They never can fill those cracks right. I've had a leak in my bathroom for MONTHS that was *supposedly* fixed, but there was just too much crack!
Indecent, I tell you!

ppl named ed are either genius, or incredibly stupid. I'm trying to figure it out for myself still.
I've seen law students and I've seen ppl referencing their law classes here. I can't remember exactly who though =D
Thank goodness I'm in good ol' fashioned econ.

Forum readers: I'm so sorry for this. But the opening is there. I must take it, it's like an irresistable compulsion. Sorry again.
I only know 2 other Eds besides me. But you're the first I've met on this game.
Well, Megabyte, you know what they say...
TWO EDS ARE BETTER THAN ONE!
I'm so, so sorry for that. It's like crack, I regret it when I'm done, but I needed to do it.
