Turtles and formations

I have heard alot about turtle formations or something and i dont have a clue wat they are talking about! can someone tell me plz?

Also I wondered if there was an ultimate layout for gold units!!!

Also, you can't rule out Monkus' Furgon-turtle. Man, that thing is a royal pain in the neck. I've fought him three times and the best I've done was killed two units, and that was because he was getting sloppy in the end.

I think my bushes are more of a pain when I play bottle, of course, they pain me too, when I can't move...but I survive...until bots actaully decides to beat me...

furgon turts are furgon turts... guys as long as a furgon is being used b an experianced turtler then they generally have the same effect, utter doom. Bottle is a great turtler and so is monkus. Ive played both.

Top turtlers IMO : Bottle, Moose, Wayf, Omegashin (never played him, heard rumors though), Snarr (he sorta doesn't play any more though), orlandy, wolfy, Warcow, zack, monkus, rantz and Gladiator.
Notice that thats three representatives from every server. Well, Glad kind of counts as legends and not banff, but okay.

Blud, you don't include yourself? You're a fine turtler. During our RGL game where I used a power turtle (stoned mud scouts and dragon with 3 knights), you handled the defense almost perfectly.

If you want the definition of a turtle, I would define it as the following: A formation that has a stone golem on the back row with 4 units ready to be stoned immediately, a cleric, no golem ambusher, and no ranged units besides LWard in the front row.

oh...and I nominate blud, he know how to use a furgon effectively :) what he isn't so good at is using witches...you should see our gray games.

Has anyone asked if he is grey or gold? Obviously a grey turtle is far different than a gold turtle.

The basis is that a turtle generally waits for an opponent to come to them or makes strategical moves close in to his corner. Of course there are your attack turtles, but I've always considered those more of a hybrid form, or even rushing depending on units.

I think fry is better known for his rushes than his turtles.

Not that that makes him any less of a good turtler, but we're mostly looking for people who excel the most turtling.

fair enough... but wackhead and X's should definitely be on that list... they're just as good if not better than many of the ppl on there.

Never played X's, I tied Wack in our only game, and he claimed to be playing terribly, so I wasn't gonna judge him on that, and I have a curse on Fry in turtling.

Wack and Fry are good though, I'd give them that.

That was one heck of a game, it was unit for unit, until he called me nuts for sacking my dragon for his muddy! :(

Or Golem from Legends... insane frost. I think he ran a 5 frost form on me before I'd ever seen a freezer. And of course, I got teh owned.
