TAO Tournament Information (Starting this weekend!)

Hello Everyone!
The first tournament series of many to come will be starting this weekend. Each wever will have it's own seperate tournament. The Great Lakes Tournament will come first, followed by the Baniff Tournament, and finally the Armageddon Tournament. Each tournament series wil have different unit restrictions and different rules. This first tournament series, however, will have no unit restrictions and will be open to both Gold and Grey members.
A prize will also be given away for each tournament. The first tournament series prize will be $30, which can be sent through PayPal or a Money Order. The next tournament series rules and prizes are still in the works, and should start in early-mid January.
A website will be made shortly after the first tournament series is complete, and will contain information on past and future tournaments, along with other goodies.
At the time I am talking with the Administrators and hope to have a Tournament forum soon. Meanwhile, all tournament related posts will be posted here in the General Forums, so keep your eyes open!

Are the battles gonna be random or are they gonna be like sports with 1 v 32, 2v31, etc... 15v16, i think i did that right? Or is it gonna be like 1v2, 3v4 etc....31v32? Or is it just completely random people playing random others in the tournament.

It's going to be completely random becuse there's no way to seed people (unless you take everyones record and get their ranking, but that still doesnt prove much... someone can just newb kill all day and get their record to 100-0-0). If we were to have a whole season before the tournament, then it would be seeded (hint hint - thats coming in the future). But this tournament is random seeding.

yea one thing that i think should b added to the game is a ladder system, so you gain ranks by ONLY beating someone thats above you. heres how it would work:

everyone appears on the ladder in the order that they signed up for the game in. if you beat someone, the system records the # on the ladder that that person was. if you beat someone again thats that # or higher, you are moved to it, ie:

instance #1

1. I am #120 on the ladder
2. i beat #64 on the ladder
3. i beat #53 on the ladder
4. i am moved to spot #64, moving everyone down a spot below that point.

instance #2

1. I am #120 on the ladder
2. i beat #64 on the ladder
3. i beat #73 on the ladder
4. i am moved to spot #72, moving everyone down a spot below that point

if you are inactive for a while you would have to be dropped down, say if you dont play the game for 7 days, you are dropped 10 spots? that will stop ppl from getting to the top and then making another account to play on, so that they can just sit on the #1 spot. then you could easily seed a tournement properly using those rankings. what do you all think?

A ladder system would be better than the rankings system. It's more fair and more even for everyone, so no one can just go on a newb killing spree.

that ranking system would be ery easy to make with a formula, and then just link the ladder program to the flash program of the game, and then its automatic.

i think this idea would be great couse then we all get the chance to be on top all we have to do is play the game wich i do relgoisly lol
