Thank DFG and this amazing comic for my inspiration... (DFG, if you wanted to make this unit, u've waited too long, so :p )... it can be found at Tacsticks #6 (http://img118.exs.cx/img118/8204/tacsticks62wx.png)

Stick knight

class: Human fighter
description: when man encountered the golem ambusher, the wise realized they needed a way to protect themselves from the golem's mighty boulder, thus, specially trained knights became commonplace... These knights have a longer sword, giving them a more versatile attack, however, the swords are less durable, and lifting their shields in the air decreases their reaction time when blocking. Also, armor is decreased to make up for the heavy weight of the new weapons.

HP: 48
Atk: 20
Blocking: 70% (35%)
Armor: 20
Movement: 3
Recovery: 1
Range: 2 (los applies, can only attack straight, not diagonal)

Appearance: like normal knight, but sword longer and shield bigger. Also, when he's not moving or attacking, he hands the shield on the sword and holds it high up in the air.

Atk pattern: like beastrider, but LOS applies, so it only hits 1 unit

Special abilities:
Knighthood- counts as a knight on the field, meaning you can use any combination of knights and this, but only 3 total

Antibushy- this thing DOES block the LOS of the golem ambusher, as if the boulder was a scout arrow.

Tactics: turtlers... THIS is the answer to ur bushy problems... place one in front of cleric, and 40% of bushies can't get to ya, put another one diagonal to the first, and another 10% can't hit cleric with the 3 x 5 shot... (the other 50% of bushies are on the wrong side ;) )

:p Actually I was thinking of a flying unit that would get in the way of boulders,,,, But stick man with oversized shield seems to do the jorb :)

im not sure whether its completely serious or not, but generally designing units specifically to counter other units is a big no-no

I never truly comprehended just how much you people liked my comics until I saw this.

agreed with the walrus, btw just dont use an ambusher, and everyone will eventually stop, and he wont be needed... :)

On the other hand, it is frequently argued that the ambusher is designed specifically to kill clerics. But would it be better just to get rid of the ambusher or to come up with something to balance that dimension?

:D repping you every time i can was my original plan to show my appreciation... but i've yet to give out enough reps to rep ANYONE twice :(

I know this, that's why this is not JUST an anti-bushy... even without the bushy thing, it is still balanced and a plausible alternative to knight... there aren't many differences between this and knight (just a few VERY minimal stat decreases), and the extra reach by itself is a reason to consider using one of these over a normal knight...

btw, idk if i'm completely serious about this... think of it as 50/50

I have to agree with Walrus that usually units designed to combat a specific unit don't go very well, but since you made a unit to counter the GA I'll let it go. ;)

On a serious note since this counts as a knight, I would usually like to put my knights up front so they can block up front. I wouldn't normally put my knight around the cleric as it can't really do anything from there if need be.

i like the idea of countering the golem ambusher but not the rest of the unit. i think you should change the units stats because as cross punisher said most people dont put knights in the back. i think it could use some fixing up

that's one of the reasons i gave it one extra range, allowing it to advance and attack a tiny bit faster.

Since this thing's best against bushies, I figured it would most likely be seeing play in turtles and anti-rushes... And it's not uncommon for knights to be found in the back surrounding the cleric.

But I do think it may need a bit of tweaking, however, giving it added movement is not an option, making it overpowered, so what do you suggest?

I can't help you with that. It's not my unit to design. I can comment on your unit and tell you what I think needs working on, but I'll let you make the changes as you see fit. :)
