I have seen many gold formations and the ones with dragons can be good or bad, depending on how it is used. I am just wondering if you all think the unit space sacrifice is worth it to use a dragon.

Well I just played M A D who has 2 beast riders, a stone golem, and one dragon.
I've only played around 10 matches and i think i handled the situation quite nicely.
I managed to kill his dragon and one beast rider :). I was quite proud. Thats not all I killed btw lol... Or at leas I think I killed more.

hmmmmmm well a dragon uses two spaces, and if u add a beast rider too, would you have space for a frosty?

I think I found the two big uses for dragons.
1: Converting Greys to Golds. Almost every game I play against a grey asks me how I got my units. I can almost see them drooling while typing it.
2: Incite panic in the young. I'll admit seeing that thing flash across the board and eat a witch whole (I can't help it. It's a reflex for me. "WITCH!" *chomp*) can scare a person used to scouts and pyros. The result is a mad rush to kill the dragon at all costs. I've seen them ditch cleric kills to knock 10 health from it's hide. Then it's a matter of keeping it alive and drawing the units to death traps.
Otherwise, it's a nice stabilizer and a fun way to wipe out a stray unit quick. It feels more defensive than offensive though. If you want to be defensive it's a good investment.
As for the others: The stone golum is required for dragon users tht can't help chomping witche...I mean, being more agressive. An armored dragon can actualy be sent out to kill something, take it's three hits, and fly back after a second hit. Keep him in the nest while healing and repeat. Also can a witch kill an armored cleric in one blow?
The beast rider? If you loved the assassin and want more offense. I can see a dragon/scout/beast combo doing nicly.. though apperently it just can't kill a knight.
Overall though the gold units are stronger but trickier to use. They all have to work together to get something done: no more lone unit sacrifice kills.
