Cheating.

I didn't know where else to put this. This is where I felt it would gain the most admin/mod attention.

Anyway, .Twelve (on Banff, not the .Twelve on Rev) was cheating for rating with bodexxx. I only got 2 screenshots unfortunately, but he had been doing this for some time. Ask Teester if you're not sure. The games lasted about 30 seconds each.

This guy is proven to be an idiot. I believe he has several other names too, and has got the passwords of several other members. Couldn't we get an IP ban as soon as Bills comes back? (I've heard he hasn't been around the past few days.)

Edit: I believe his other name is HEATON.

This was on rev about a month ago....i was the .Twelve that day. Heaton was......

to start off....

ANY TAO PLAYERS CAUGHT CHEATING WILL BE BANNED AND THEIR ACCOUNTS WILL BE REMOVED. CHEATING AND ACCOUNT 'HACKING' ARE SERIOUS OFFENCES THAT HARM THE TAO COMMUNITY AND TAKE AWAY FROM THE ENJOYMENT OF THE MAJORITY OF TAO PLAYERS WHO ARE NOT ENGAGED IN THESE TYPES OF ACTIVITIES.

Secondly....

The issue brought up relating to the hijacking of rev accounts is being dealt with currently. I will post a message here and in the main announcement forum once a solution has been put in place. Expect it in the next hour or so. In the meantime we are monitoring for this activity and anyone caught attempting to use this workaround will be banned.

If you believe your rev account has been hijacked please put in a ticket to change your password.

From now on only the first person to sign up for a rev account will be the owner of that account. Rev accounts are on a first come, first serve basis if you attempt to gold an account with a name that already exists on the rev server you will be warned before you continue to the paypal sign up screen. We apologize to anyone who has been inconvinienced by this loophole.

Thank you to those who exposed this loophole and who are vigilant in reporting cheaters and spammers.

It means alot to us a community to know that what we pay for, will be safe to play on. And will not be hijacked in anyway. I think we can all continue to play our games normally.

I don't think it needs it's own section. Just a single thread that admins can browse. It's a little easier that way in my opinion. It's tougher to browse thirty threads on cheaters than a single thread with simple posts and screenshots of cheaters.

Exactly. But what about people who haven't seen this thread before, or don't read the announcements section? We need an obvious section to report these sorts of incidents. Otherwise, we'll still get people posting in other forums, and not getting noticed.

Yeah, good point. Either way I don't think it should be in this particular thread. The first post of the thread should explain how you should report the details of the cheating going on and exactly what you should post. This thread is started about oneguy, which would seem tacky to me reading it on my first visit to the forums.

A lot of general threads start that way...

In any case, I (or a mod) could always edit the post.

But that's not what I'm suggesting. I'm suggesting a section for reporting cheaters on the forum. Whether that's a separate forum or not would be up to the admins. A sticky in one forum might suffice.

Not trashin yah, but I've always just sent a direct PM to the mods. If trying to get a mod to view it is your goal that is.

They tend to respond quickly and the issue is resolved much more efficiently.

Nope. The standards are the same, just not enforced ever. Apparently there's some grey that's 2000+, but I can't figure out how to type his name(It's arabic). He cheated the whole way to his high stat. Hopefully he'll get banned.... eventually...

As was stated earlier in this thread, some players had been attempting to exploit our ticket system to gain control over other players' revelations accounts. This loophole has now been dealt with and cheaters and 'hackers' will not be able to exploit this again.
