I have noticed that since the new blocking system was implemented, the scout's blocking has become most perculiar. After several insane battles, I decided to keep a running record of all scout hits/blocks over a 2-week period. Here's the results:

Scout front blocks: 12 out of 35
Scout side blocks: 44 out of 65

Surely this is the wrong way around? Scouts seem to block more from the side than the front. I've had other people talking to me about a similar problem. I've actually reached the stage where I'm turning my scouts to face away from anything that could hit them in the front, so that they go for the side instead...

I've also noticed that if a scout does block from the side once, it will then block the next 3 or 4 shots from the side as well, despite the system being supposed to cut that sort of thing out...

I, also, have noticed that they don't like to block from the front. Especially when the game depends on it, or the other person's cleric depends on it.

My tag-team match vs. rantzu: another 2/2 scout front hits, and 1/2 scout side blocks.

I think I had a reason why. If the new blocking rules were applied only to the side, then when it went to block twice in a row from the side, it most likely wouldn't. Therefore, assuming it wasn't applied to the front, it needs to be. Atleast, that is what seems to be the answer.

I just think that Seed switched the 30% and 60% blocking by accident.

the problem is, without knowledge of the system, we can't tell if this is simply statistical anomoly in the system and that it'd be more balanced out in an even longer term look, or whether there is really a problem with the system.

Although...
I hav noticed some issues as well. In the last 20 games I've had...66% side blocks for pyromances/DSM, on both myself and opponents combined.
Also, 28% side blocking for knights.

threw trial and error, we could come to a fairly good conclusion. However it doesn't matter, we just want it fixed.
