As more and more people is playing this game and experiencie is built, you can see that there's always some new strategy, old tactics become that... old
you see..
everyone's so interested in killing the oponent's cleric ant the begining that they often move their most valuable units such as scouts, i know many people that can win without even using the cleric, but i hardly believe that you can win a match by sacrificing the scout or two pyros.....
now that the assassing trick is wide know, you can see that everyone is throwing the assassin in front of the enemy lines just to see if luck smiles and lets the assassin take one or two or even three opponents, i think there's a mistake there, the assassin might be a decisive unit at the end of the game, i mean whenever you have got to kill (with the trick or without it) a lightning ward or two knights.. besides it will be the only one good enough to beat a scout if you have lost yours...

I agree 100%, in grey game it realy isnt that important to get the cleric, unless you can do so without much loss, and i also agree, an endgame assassin is a mighty foe indeed...never underestimate her
Overall, great advice obzkure, congrats.

Cleric is still important, but if one of the players uses a chanty/bw combo strategy, then cleric is slightly less important. when fighting a grey who uses a chanty/bw combo, I would never sacrifice scout for cleric. I would, however, sacrifice a knight without hesitation.

bingo sub the hendrix, my thoughts exactly, i'd sacrifice a knight or 3 if i could penetrate behind their lines and take out a cleric, some magic, puts a lot of pressure on your opponent's defenses and hopefully you can kill all of their ranged units (that is if you want to use your chanty)
but a scout for a cleric is almost never worth it - i agree 100% with you guys

i would usually not go after the cleric if i broke through their formatoin(assuming they have a knight wall). It seems kind of unimportant at first, but once i kill their ranged units(and hopefully chanty), sure why not...its there, its defenceless, it should die......ya...thats about all i got for now........*gets distracted by a pop up and wanders off into the depts of the internet*

actually the cleric is usually one of the last things I kill. I like sniping, but as you said, not at the cost of my scout.
Sipmply put: ALWAY Always always...keep your scout alive. Wether it be endgame or the beggining...its too vital a piece.

Usually instead of trying to kill their cleric, I'll just paralyze all their units.
Using my usual double Cleric (Legends), combined with B-Ward, I can usually keep my Scout alive no matter where. Cleric is *usually* one of the last units I kill, but depending on LOS availability it may be the first. For example against the standard setup I can cherry pick the Cleric, heal or barrier, wait a turn, and kill Cleric regardless of where he moves. If I play it right (which I usually do since I've done it so much :p ), I can take Cleric first and keep Scout.
But in my mind, unless they're using a Chanty + barrier, taking out mage units then Cleric is the best option. Especially with my two Clerics, once their Cleric is dead I can pound them up and down with Knights, and without magic units to worry about I'm in good shape.
Good strategy though, good post.
