I sent my first ticket in today, reporting the spammer in GL, 100% Complete. This is many days after 100% Complete was listed on the blacklist (mad props to sergiy, at least he's doing something), and I thought the ticket system would be the only way to make sure *someone* took notice of the problem. While the response was quite prompt, it was also completely unsatisfactory.

"Report this problem to a moderator. See this thread for more details" and then a link to the blacklist thread.

Thank you, ticket system, but moderators can do NOTHING about in-game spam. As far as your link to that thread goes, what good is it for him to be on the "blacklist" if he's still playing and spamming?

There MUST be some way to report spammers, or at the very least gold spammers. Grey spammers can be swiftly dealt with using chatfilter if you're a gold, and the paying customers are the ones that the service is for.

Perhaps this belongs in the suggestions forum, and it can be moved there if a mod feels the need. My idea is a form that's part of the ticket system: simply add "Spammer" or something similar to the drop-down menu where you're reporting your problem. When you click that, another line comes up where you attach a screenshot of the spammer in action, and the server they're on. It would be very easy to set up, and it would work.

Spammers are a bigger problem right now than cheaters, for whatever reason. Something really really needs to be done.

Well the ticket system sure has it's flaws, alas nothing will be done anytime soon about it

Reporting the spammer to a moderator gets the task done a lot quicker than the ticket system usually does. The idea is that by sending us the proof we can look through it and decide which actions we feel need to be taken.
After that, we post in the moderators forums in a thread which contains 4 posts--one for each server.
Serigy monitors this thread everyday and gets rid of them according to what we've said.

The idea is to minimize the time they spend on spammers so that their time can be spent more on helping with hacked accounts, PW changes, gold upgrades etc.

Make sense?
Usually if you send me a screenshot of a spammer I'll have it on the list within an hour or so. I tend to have no life and come onto the forums every few hours at least to check my private messages.

Oh, so to clarify...if you need to report a spammer sent me a private message with the screenshots. It will be dealt with ASAP that way. Not sending in a ticket frees up a bunch of Serigy's time so that he can help out with other stuff.

I was trying not to be pessimistic. Thanks for the help.

Maybe, just maybe, someone cares.

I care, I just can't fully comprehend the technicallities of making a decent response :S

We all care!

It's just, the moderators don't really have that many tasks so by sending the reports to us you're able to not only give us something to do! But also let serigy put more time into fixing accounts rather than investigating spammers.

So really? In a way the moderators are like detectives!
I’m in such a strange mood.

Thank you for the response, thebu. That cleared things up for me immensely. Sorry I didn't respond right away, I'm at work and kind of just checking back from time to time.

Of course now that I know what the system is, I didn't leave myself a link to where I uploaded that screenie

So it will have to wait until I get home and I can look at the computer where I was doing all this.

So then it's clear as to why reporting to moderators is the best choice?

In general I'd say either Realist or myself are the moderators which are online the most and therefore the best to report situations to.
However, you can always send it to all of us if you want to!

14+ spammers I've seen and reported to various mods, 14+ spammers gone. It works if you use it :)

ppl just assume that since the mods can't do anything themselves, nothing ever happens if you tell them, so they don't.
