I'm too lazy to pick a winner, so I'll just let everybody who entered win.
If I missed anybody, let me know.
To see what you've won, look at;
http://www.tacticsarenaonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17576 second post.
General information
------------------
This was done over a 3 1/4 hour period. 2 1/4 hours one night, 1 hour the next.
The time was not consecutive, but this is 3 hours worth of sitting in the lobby, constantly watching, taking a shot of every game I saw. I will also say I engaged in 3 grey games during this time. The people that agreed to take screen shots for me didn't, so I will only say I played 3, and to be fair, will not explain how or why.
While I was watching and fishing for comments, it was explained to me by three individual golds that rather than grey jump, they put their avatar down on a square. 4 out of 5 times, a grey will jump them before a gold has a chance to. Thus, these people play most of their games against greys, while being able to honestly say they never grey jump. Outside of the time I was taking these shots, I tested this by setting down. Every time I was jumped by a grey.
During this time, there were almost no challenges at all. With a few exceptions, none of the golds were calling each other out. I did receive a couple challenges, and there was a few here and there. But mostly, these people would just set down and get jumped.
At all times, the lobby was never without a gold to challenge while I was taking these shots. I can prove this because I am gold and I was there taking shots.
These shots were taken late night(here), and there wasn't a packed server. Many of the floors were empty. The grey vs gold games were a large % of the total overall games.
I'm not saying anybody in these pictures was doing something wrong, or wasn't doing something wrong. Those are just the general things I saw, not things from one person.
The Stipulations
---------------
1) I decided two clan members playing didn't count.
2) I also decided I'd be biased if I only took shots of who I thought were grey jumpers. So I took a shot of every game.
3) In the interests of not being biased, I will not accuse or defend anybody in these pictures. Nor will I explain any circumstances. These are just the shots I took.
4) If anybody feels the need to explain what happened, or just to say what a cool avatar they have, that's fine.
5) While I was doing this, every 5 minutes I announced to the lobby that I was doing it. Every single gold in these shots knew what was happening. Although they certainly didn't say anything about it at the time.
6) In shots #1, #2, and #8, there are cuts of things people said in the lobby. The entire phrase that was said is there. It may or may not be in context. Either way, I won't explain it. What's there is there.
7) As I had 500 pages of shots, it made things easier to make a collage of all the shots. I cut the tile of the grey/gold game, and put as many as I could onto one page. Each picture is a seperate game that I took.
8) Keep in mind I still have all the full screen shots saved if anybody wishes to dispute any shot they are in. I will not pass judgement. If somebody offers an opinion and I don't feel that is what happened, I may refer to the original shot to refute the opinion. But I will do my best not to get involved, as that would show bias.

Sure!
Actually, I got to my current standing on GL from tons of grey games.
When I was at 1000-1350 I could literally never get a game. Everyone said that they didn't want to risk it because they thought my stats didn't represent my skills.
Eventually I started putting my square down and letting greys jump me.
Most of the time though I just used a grey set.
Unfortunately it seems I still rarely get a gold game there. :(
hahhhahaha, you didnt get me :p :p

emerald slasher & Jeffery: If you guys want to win, you actually have to enter, you can't just sit there saying you won.
Zeratul: I liked the "You could be here too!"
Jeffery again: Amaroth offered an explaination. I said if anybody felt they wanted to offer one, that's fine. But if their story varied from what I saw, I'd get out the screen shot to prove it. I don't have anything in screen shots that would disprove what Amaroth said.
theburning: I didn't realize it was such a widespread and unspoken tactic. It really surprised me to learn of the reverse grey jumping. But, when you can't get a game, setting down is all you can do. On the other hand, these golds were not challenging anybody, they were just setting down without saying anything.
Kyir: Is that a challenge? ;) Should I follow you around in the server taking shots of every game you're in? I can even have my spy network looking for you. :ninja: Or maybe not, we're pretty lazy.
I'll have to make a thread detailing the contest, and keep it updated with the current contest(if I can think of any more) and the number of points people have. Look for that when I get around to it.
So far Zig and Duffman have entered. They got 3 golds over 6 times, listed their stats, and identified the gold appearing 12 times, with his stats. Duffman also identified himself as appearing 0 times, along with his stats. But that doesn't count for a point. Nice try though. :)
So come on people, get those entries in. The more people that enter, the better the prize will be.
Go me! Bring it on Duffman!:)

I always came on and challenged. I think only 2 higher end players ever accepted and one of them asked me to surrender once I won so save his 1600 stats from losing to a 1200.
Even people from clans which apparently never decline games always refused.
Or I'd get the 'sure let's play on rev!'
Obviously I don't want to play on rev! If I don't get my stats up on GL then no one will ever play me on GL!
It truly was quite disappointing. :(
I know that Realist is encountering the same problem that I did. If you just use grey units though no one can really object to it, right?

I often have used the grey unit setups as a gold. It's actually hilareous to see a grey start calling you a n00b for not knowing golds can use the extra units, then shred them to bits.
Also, when using a grey setup, a gold who fights you and wins usually brags, then you simply hit them with your gold setup, and wipe their nose in the in the dust.

So, you're grey challenging her, and you want to play her gold on Rev instead of in GL?
She specifically listed those two things as problems. :)
But anyway, let's not lose focus here.
The fact that there are several people with good stats and between 7 to 12 grey games in just over 3 hours is something to think about.
And come on people, enter the contest.
It's really not that hard. :)
There's a prize.
And, just because I feel like it, I'll include a participation prize.

But what would be more fair?
The point of that was to get the people that jumped so many times to recognize that everybody saw what they did. :)

Of course. I forgot that idiots like to claim sarcasm after making a post where their stupidity is revealed. Then the immediate claim of sarcasm is made.
Here's a hint for you. Sarcasm is not detectable by text alone. When you make a simple statement, and there is NO smile or other tell, then it is not sarcastic.
But I stand by my non-sarcastic statement that you are a dumbass.
