Ive tried logging into Banff about 20 times now and the same thing has happened.
"please wait........Server Unavailable"
what is going on?

Just wait, I assume its a DNS error. Give it some time to propagate.

it says on the "play online" screen that Banff is online. yet, it doesnt let me in. and no, it doesnt hate me..can servers hate? :confused:

The "Online" page is a retarded manually updated page. It never lists when the servers are down.
The servers are sometimes unavailable. You have to just wait until they are.

I guess Bills never thought of a decent program for the site to keep it to current information on server status :P

No, when asked, Seed said it would cause too much "load" on the server to implemt that, although a simple cron job run every 5 or 10 minutes would just ping a quick connect to test it.
DR looked into that long long ago.

The way it works currently would mean each new page view would check and see if that server is up and running, hence you would take up your own spot before entering the game.
A cron job might work and work it a bit differently, but the icon are mainly for larger outages that require a few hours or more to fix the problem.

Yea, agreed that if it goes down for 10 minutes its not good for business to display "DOWN" in red font real big there.
However yea, it all depends on what it is being used for.
