Grey Tag Team Round 3 Matchups

Okay, so we're clearly going with option #2.

I was going to get numbers from each team, but realized that would take forever. So I got Realist to give me numbers in random orders and applied those to the teams I had left.

Interestingly enough, the team who is going to be playing the eliminated team is Rusty Sheriffs Badges. The interesting part is that the eliminated team coming back for this round is Tassles!

Please try to get this round finished ASAP. I really don't want to have to see it carry on the way the last one did! <- That is aimed moreso towards Rusty Sherffs Badges and Tassles!

I was just wondering because that was an aspect that was never clarified. One possibility was like a few drops in rev.

I had emailed myself prior to this even thinking I'd take numbers from each team captain...but he convinced me not to due to how long that would take.

He therefore gave me the numbers 1 through 10 in random order.
That's how it occured.

Trust me, if I had it my way I'd have never paired up two inactive teams together again by choice.

I'll admit that it does seem that maybe one aspect of it should be redrawed. It would seem awfully unfair for the sherriff badges to beat a team fair and square and then have to play them again and lose. Not very fair and not very interesting. This is a flaw in my plan I wasn't expecting, someone good at math do the odds for me.

I'm okay with whatever you decide TB, I know this has been a headache for you. I wouldn't oppose a change though, it does seem kind of unfair for the sherriff badges to me.

Here is what occured:
- I sent myself an email containing the following:
3=5
2=1
4 - Eliminated
Eliminated # = 7

The idea was going to be to get each team captain from the remaining team to pick a number between 1 and 5 and then to get each team captain from the eliminated teams to pick a number between 6 and 10.

Then! Realist came on...and I asked him to put the numbers 1 through 10 in random order. So he did! The number 7 was given last - which was Tassles! team position in the list....however, he hadn't seen this list I had created and therefore had no idea of which team he was picking.

I just got really tired somewhere in the middle of writing this post. Am I making sense?

Anyways, isn't finding another opponent technically not very fair? We did it randomly and these were the results we got.

You had a chance to vote. Say What? voted and I took his opinion into account.

In truth, even if both you and Draquist vote against option 2 it's 1) too late and 2) doesn't matter because option 2 would still have more votes.

I don't like how it turned out either...it seems incredibly annoying! However, if people really want I'm open to either of the 2 following options:
1 - Redraw from the remaining 4 teams (In other words, Tassles! would only have a 1/4 chance in getting RSB again.)

I think if I ever decide to run another TTT (yeah right!) I'll have my own list of substitutes to make things a little more fair and probably discourage people from making teams with others they can't entirely rely on.

Well, we lucked out. If RSB is upset with the way it turned out, I can't help them(Pretty pissed, actually, that they're so mad about it. I thought we had a good match, last round, and if you beat us once, you should be able to do it again). The only thing I know to do is allow for a re-draw of matches, giving us the chance of different opponents.

Anyway, if we do play, it will be much faster. Its my Spring Break, and I will be on regularly, and Mith is foruming everyday. If the other team does their part, we'll do ours.

After one hour of play..Heres what happened..zzz says he has to go..currently im winning 10 vs 10(his knight is frozen and my enchanty is BW'd) I agree to play later if we restart 10 vs 9 since i obviously have his knight..he seems shocked..then agrees and says he has to go, and that he'll be surrendering to me the next round so I dont lose rating. I basically passed my turns thinking he was forfeiting..I was very surprised 30 minutes later when we were still "playing"(quotes because i would hardly call it that..it was more me questioning him). He then took 2 of my units through an assassin bomb very cheaply since the match wasnt even being played anymore then I got one more of his(when i realised he apparently wasnt leaving). He pulled the same crap on SW last time around. Then he demanded we play 8 vs 8..I am opting to take the forfeit..I dont play with people who have to con their way through matches. Id feel much worse if he hadnt already been eliminated from this tournament.

I think one of the reasons behind this is that TB has offered grey drops (if I'm not mistaken) to Tassles! if they win, as an incentive. The problem with this is that it's too much of an incentive. In fact, if they were to win the match, they'd have come 2nd in the tourney (in effect) because they are one of 2 teams that will receive a prize.

Now, zzzaacckk doesn't seem like the type of person to do this. I would suggest a rematch from the 10 vs. 9 position personally, but that depends on whether zzz posts a screenie (or even attempts to defend himself). Darque, unfortunately, saying "I've lost all respect for him" isn't likely to work and allow you to simply progress... I very much doubt that would happen in a theoretical final between RTT and BWHAL, where *TN* and I are scheduled to fight first. You have to finish the match you've started.

Incidentally, Ryan's sub hasn't PMed me. :rolleyes: (And I know who bodexxx is, I've played him before. He's pretty good.)

Maybe the cheese can sort out this problem... everyone loves cheese.

I was so busy with school work etc. that I didn't put too much thought into it.

Anyhow, what good are grey drops? They're basically worthless in gold games, aren't they? By now I'm sure most people have their 2 clerics and a couple of witches, enchantresses etc.

I never actually confirmed that I would give them any prize. I'll wait and see if they win this round before making any sort of decision on it!

i will post the screenie when I come home that is easy. My side of the story is that I had 45 minutes to play and I decided that this was as good as aon opportunity as I was going to get to play so I did. Now at the begginning of the game i agreed to surrender at the end of the game to protect his stats. When I said ok to the 10vs 9 restart I never said I would surrender next turn and I didnt mean to imply it. Darque did not pass his turn but he did something(i forget). I then moved my assasin up and he healed and I a-bombed my knight. I then told him i got 15 more minutes until I have to go end of story. My mom gave me 15 more minutes before we had to go. I ended up killing his assasin and he killed my frozen knight. Ill post the screenie from when we get home. Im not going to argue but that is my side f he story.

Normally I wouldnt be such an ass to do this, as ive restarted in previous tournaments but this is an exception...I was shown no respect..so neither will you.

Well, bodexxx was supposed to have been online 30 minutes ago. He hasn't turned up yet. We arranged it only 12 hours ago as well. :rolleyes:

Wow, what a game.

Start off with similar same-side turtles. He has the formation advantage, because his near flank has more blockers and a witch ready to attack, to my scout and knight (designed for opp-side battles).

Early exchanges of LW/witch fire make my knight and his knight badly injured... I am forced to retreat it. He goes for a front shot on my scout... and hits. And my cleric is recovering, and he has a witch ready. Within 5 turns, any chance of my winning with force is gone. I get the witch in exchange for my scout. I try a witch attack of my own to get a knight and threaten his cleric, but he advances his scout to break BW focus. My witch dies, but I reduce his scout to 12, and he barriers it. I am now scout down and in a pretty desperate situation. I advance a knight so his barriered scout can't retreat, and move my chanty up into scout-freezing position. He responds by threatening to freeze my knight that's advanced. I accept this, and freeze the scout; he freezes my knight. We trade turns for a while, and then I notice the move that saves me the match; I freeze his chanty.

He's now stuck. He ass-blasts his own LW, my LW and my knight. My chanty is out of BW range, but it recovers before he can reach it, and he only has 3 knights, BW and cleric left anyway. I (eventually) kill both the frozen chanty and scout, and lose my cleric in exchange (there was no way I could save it...), leaving it with BW on 10, chanty, assassin on 21 (a-bomb ready for priming), and 2 knights vs. 3 knights, BW and cleric. One of his knights is well out of it, and one of the others is in imminent danger of being frozen and the chanty BWed. Eventually, I a-bomb one of the two advanced knights, and freeze the other. Then I simply killed the cleric, killed the BW, and froze the last 2 knights;

I then forfeited to carlos22 (2 knights and chanty being not much use). He has the normal units (ie. no pyros.)

Mithrandir vs Darque

Well, Darque started the match down a knight and an assassin. Same side game again (bleh) but he played a very good match. With the help of a couple of very key blocks (though it was all in all even throughout the match), superb play and a couple of mistakes from me he killed 2 knights and a witch. Pretty annoying, hopefully I can kill one of Say What?'s units with my remaining stuff. Good job Darque, I was quite outmatched. Sorry team, I kind of blew it, again. I did my best, I'll do my best in the next round as well.
