GADGET WALL

Concept: The GADGET WALL is similar to a ward, in that it has no movement of it's own, however it can be "moved" by 1 to 3 adjacent friendly units (that/those unit(s) cannot attack while moving/firing the GADGET WALL, nor on their next turn, since they are assumed to be recovering from the exertion from moving/firing the WALL). It's basically a siege-type weapon in the vein of a Ballista or Trebuchet. It cannot fire of it's own accord. It must be manned by at least one of your units. It can be "stolen" by your opponent if the unit(s) manning the GADGET WALL is/are killed or move away from the GADGET WALL. Unit(s) manning the GADGET WALL gain 10% blocking from the front (5% from the sides)

Hit Points: 68
Power: 30* see note
Armor: 25% Unlike ward, GADGET WALL is vulnerable to attacks at all times and cannot Block.
Recovery Time: Equal to the highest of unit(s) manning the GADGET WALL
Movement: If 1 unit is manning Movement=2, If 2 units manning Movement=4, If 3 units (MAX) manning Movement=6. For obvious reasons no friendly unit can "man" GADGET WALL from the front, it/they must move behind or beside to operate the WALL. Once there, they will remain in that relative position until they stop manning the WALL(move away). The last unit manning the wall cannot move away from it. That Unit must operate the GADGET WALL unit it is destroyed or he dies. However, that unit can move AROUND the wall (adjacent tiles) to benefit from LOS

Units operating the GADGET WALL can be targeted independantly of the WALL by opposing units.

Attack Pattern:
Fires SHRAPNEL in straight line forward from the directing GADGET WALL is facing up to 4 tiles away. The SHRAPNEL will strike up to 3 units in that line with diminishing power [ie: First unit hit receives 30 damage (before adjusting for armor) Second unit hit receives 15 damage, Third unit hit receives 5 damage.]

Attack:

Hell no. 76 HP is insanity.
Also, the concept is a bit confusing. Could you simplify it?
Until then, unit grade: D-

I took that into account, that's why I modified it. It cannot block, and can be hit with regular attacks.

I never liked the idea of manned weaponry units...

I never liked the idea of Healing units, but I still use my Cleric.

Thanks for your comments all.

Need to get your post count up?

How does that help me improve the idea or explain why it's bad?

This idea has been done before, but this is a nice version. Well thought out.

Grade: B+

The manning thing is a little bit confusing, perhaps yo should give it half the movement of it's "user" rounded up, and make it so only one unit can man it.

Ohhhhh. Now I get it. It has to be manned, like a turret of romething? Cool.
I'll raise the grade for that: C+

Well, since my earlier post was a paraphrase and NOT a quote, so I'd be impossible to have misquoted you...please see the attached.

You give too many As and Fs and not enough Cs and Bs.

P.S. I didn't say "always" either. Please don't "misquote" me. I don't take kindly to that.

You said I said something in particular. Just because it didn't include [/quote], that doesn't mean you didn't twist something I said and misquote me. Don't be a fool.

Dude, relax, have a nice glass of warm milk and crack a book. There's a world of difference between a paraphrase and a quote. Is hyposcrisy the rule here?

How exactly did I misquote you? You said that I said that he ONLY gave A's and F's. Wrong.

Um... Always and only are two different words...but lets not argue symantics here.

A bit sensative? See the smiley face at the end of mine. That means HAPPY!

I'm not in the best mood and your diversionary tactics, intentional or not, are not helping. I simply don't like being misquoted and instead of simply correcting yourself, you make excuses. I dislike that.

Devlin777

Please elaborate on "Diversionary Tactics" as I am unsure of how you mean that. I DID correct myself. If you look up a few posts, I listed your EXACT quote so there can be no misunderstanding by anyone. All hail!

Is it really that important to you?

Mithrandir

This is getting ridiculous.

Your PS, implying I misquoted you was diversionary. You could have simply admitted that you were wrong when you said I said something.

Your nonsense about how it was a paraphrase and not a quote was similar nonsense.

Those are the first two to pop into my head, you aren’t worth another minute of my time.

Devlin777

I agree. Arguing symantics is pointless here.

I believe you understood exactly what I was implying when I said you said HB gives A's and F's, you only want to start a row. I'm not exactly sure what you meant with your "threatening" that you don't take kindly to being misquoted, since it was apparent to all that no ill will was meant on my part in the first place. Your argument and defense are both flawed.

I made no error. I was under the impression that these forums were for fun, amusement and enjoyment. However, it would appear to me that you have too much invested emotionally in TAO.

My worth as judged by you, is of little consequence to me.

Apologies to all for getting off topic in this thread. So, any thoughts on the Gadget Wall?
