1) Gas prices have been allowed to exceed 2.20 per gallon, and no one has suspected anyone
2) we are at war without any provocation, with a country who we are building
3) people are worried about the way they look over their childs education (long story)
4) kids skip school and smoke weed, while their friends stay in school get 4.0s and then 20 years later the pot head is asking for money
5) (most important) the cheat has 3 green boxes

Fan of Aerosmith, eh?
Gas has actually 'inflated' much less than any other item on the market. (Think soda, milk, etc... over the last thirty years).
I honestly don't know why governments need to justify war, America has failed at it since the Monroe Doctrine and Roosevelt Corollary. (And yea, war just isn't what it used to be. We beat a country into submission and now we rebuild it? No one cared in World War I when entire countries got wrecked.)
Good call, but this has been going on for a long time.
I laugh at this one because it's so true.
I'll tell you that I didn't contribute to this one.
1. Ok
2. I'd say 9-11 is decent provocation, but there are, of course, problems with what we're doing.
3. Ok...
4. True... definite agreement.
5. HOLY HECK!!!

What about the Monroe doctrine? That was WWII, but still...
And don't get me going on all our dirty little wars.
Although our current escapade is far from little.

That was actually 1823. The Roosevelt Corollary was 1904. Nothing to do with WWII.
It is little. We've deployed less than half the amount of troops to Iraq than Vietnam.

Aye, don't take your information form icons and straight news hype. The number of times American troops have been involved in questionable conflict over the last 20-30 years is a lot more than you think. People like to blame our current president, but really, the last 4 or 5 at least have all done similar things and simply not gotten as much press hype from it.
Not saying I agree with the conflicts, just that I think people aren't taking in the big picture. There seems to be thought that this sort of stuff has just been happening recently...but its been like this for decades.
and dove, even our own government has yet to provide a connection between the old Iraqi government and the 9/11 attacks. Again, I don't condone the old government, or our war, but keep it in mind.

Bah, roaming, if those are your only concerns about what's going wrong with the world today, then I envy you. I don't think The Cheat having three green boxes really compares with how much of the world is starving. I actually think The Cheat's an okay guy, despite the fact that he used to be more of an annoying fellow (or so I've heard). Kid's have been skipping school to smoke weed since before I was born, and that's probably never going to change, unless the government finally gives in and just makes the damn plant legal. As far as gas goes, even the government knows it's limits, and believe me, they'll never push gas up and over what the general public thinks is acceptable.
The war situation, well, meh. What war? We pwn Iraq. What is more disturbing then the 'war' is the reason it was started in the first place, and the fact that under false pretenses it was allowed to transpire right under the whole of America's noses unopposed. The fact that it happened at all is more scarier then the 'war' itself. Things will get worse before they get better.

Not even the last few decades, ever since the country's inception.
The imperialist periods of the 1880s and 1890s spring readily into mind. How about the questionable Spanish-American and Mexican-American wars. Our takeover of Hawaii and the Phillipines? Perfect examples. That Platt Amendment is a favorite of mine. (I had my AP US History exam a few weeks ago, so this is all fresh in my mind.)

You got me on the first one, but saying Iraq is small because vietnam was bigger is like saying it's OK to drive Navigator, because there are Hummer H2's around, and they guzzle more gas.
EDIT: and I meant say Marshall plan, it's getting really late.

true, but i was more implying the region where current conflicts have been taken palce. Its only been of real interest over the last 30 years or so militarily, with the expansion of modern technology and industry.

That's true, but so have all the periods mentioned above. Each one was driven by economic interests (industry).
EDIT: Only difference is the resource we're after.

I never said it's OK. I just don't know why people make it out to more than it is. When three soldiers die in a chopper crash, people cry in the streets and demand the troops return home. Do you know the actual death to enemy death tallies? Do you know the amazingly low number of civilians killed? Even in Vietnam, the friendly to enemy death rate was at least 1 to 3 (most likely more).

I beleive it's in the tens of thousands? I don't want to at all belittle this horrible event by saying this, but do you know how many were killed in 9/11? Considerably less.

do you remember during the clinton administration when it hit over 2 dollars, the first thing that happened was an inspection, within 5 months gas went down to 1 dollar 35 cents, now think, why would bush profit from not inspecting,
a) cheney was a former co president at halliburton oil
b) texas government, one of the highest oil mining states in america
c) currently in Iraq, with one of the most oil supplies in the world
all three contribute to gas prices should be lowering
Kyir it is personal, my friends mother spent 20,000 on plastic surgery and lipo, and she made him pay for his books, tuition and room and board
