Shield Bearer
HP: 50
Power: 5 (Shield Bash)
Armor: 30
Move: 3
Refresh: 1

100% Blocking from front 75% from sides.

Pikeman
HP: 45
Power: 25 (Halberd or the like)
Armor: 15
Move: 3
Refresh: 2

Blocking must be very low due to Halberd's unwieldly nature. 30% front 15% sides?

Attacks any one square from the pattern of the enchantress. Yes, that does mean you could attack through another unit. The thought there is similar to using spears from ranks behind the front ranks in real medieval combat.

I like that idea of the shield bearer, however, im not sure how well people would be able to use it...i mean, its poor attack makes it simply and a moving obstacle. Also, the most it can do is simply delay the advance of knights and beast riders. Teleportation also renders the shieldbearer useless.

The pikeman is not bad, more power and less armour would do the trick. :)

Updated to include the feedback on Pikeman.

And like you said, the Shieldbearer is not an offensive unit, but I believe that a game involving tactics, there have to be some defensive minded people that would put a unit like this to good use.

I tend to agree about the weakness of the "Shield Bearer". Although its a good idea its to easy to move around. Maybe a unit that consists of 2-3 "units" side-by-side forming something like a "Roman Turtle" formation might be more useable because with only one square blocked its to easy to move around that one piece. Just my thoughts...
