KBHoleN1 vs. Stiffness

I was in the Banff lobby asking for a turtle game, and Stiffness agreed. I say no GA, he says no wisp or mud. I usually don't play without at least the mud, but I agreed to it, figuring he was setting up for a furgon field day without a mud on the board. I am awesome with my wisp, so immediately I am at the disadvantage, taking away two of the most important units, so I expected to lose. The game plays on with this kid trying for front shots all over the place, and getting every life-saving block he needed in return.

At one point, he moved twice within about 20 seconds. His dragon attacked my scout and I was waiting for him to block so I could move. Next thing I know, his beast rider attacks my other scout. My buttons never lit up, I didn't even touch my keyboard. So, either a serious glitch in the game, or the worst luck I have ever had. Well, I explain what happened, and he says, "well I don't know what you're complaining about, it's not my fault."

Stiffness is perhaps the biggest jackass I have met on this game, and just when I was getting back into it. He claimed that he was obviously the better player because I earned my loss, if that makes any sense to anyone else, let me know. I asked if he would play me again after this, with a mud and a wisp allowed, I even told him where they would be, it's my standard turtle, so anyone who has played me should know what I mean. Stiffness responded with "idk, i don't usually play the same person twice in 1 day."

With blocking continuing to help him, I asked if he would draw, admitting my defeat in the game. "That's something I can't do .. draw when I am winnning." So he only wants to draw if it helps him? And then he claims not to care about stats. I know, stats aren't everything, but I like them :bigsmile: . The fact is, this guy had all the luck in the world, took advantage of a serious mistake during gameplay (not gonna say it was the game, could be my computer being retarded), and ran wiht his precious stats that he claims not to care about. Stiffness, you're full of shit, I hope you enjoyed your win.

The Beast Rider has a special ability, used like the Muddy and Assassin during your facing turn after your first attack, so he'll be used more. The ability allows him to move/attack on a turn that you already used all your options on(i.e. You attack with your Scout, then choose the option that makes you face directions. During this phase, click the Beast Rider, like you would the Muddy/Assassin, and your turn will automatically revert to the movement phase for him. Thus, allowing him to attack). Not many people know about it, though. Its actually pretty sweet.

Well, I played Stiffness in a turtle game today, he agreed to no ambusher, but he asked about mud and wisp. I said I wanted them to be available and he agreed.

It was a very long, tough game. The only frontshots taken all game were 2 non-critical ones by him on my furgon. I played the entire game without having to take a blockable shot, so I didn't have cause to worry about luck. :D He did get 2 side-hits on my scout, but that's sort of expected.

He played really well, making only 2 mistakes, but that was just enough for me to trap him. Though we didn't talk in the game, he was a good sport in the lobby afterwards.

Maybe you just caught him on a bad day, KB.

Don't be a smartass. I mispelled one word, and one that you still knew what it was. There's a difference between typing "Aweful" instead of "Awful," and typing "UR" isntead of "You're."

Hey Kb, are you using wireless internet?

That sort of stuff like "buttons not showing up" and "late turns" happen to me frequently, and possibly the worst dropping out of the game.. When I wasn't on wireless my connection was fine, but since I changed it's become a regular happening.

I get the same crap on my wireless internet. I get people telling me to hurry up, and on my screen it says it's not my turn. Maybe I am just unlucky.

Wireless internet access really only becomes dodgy if you have cheap routers/wireless cards.
