A set of magicaly imbued ornate platemail.
Hit Points: 30
Power: 12
Armor: 30%
Blocking: 0%
Movement: 2 (possibly 3?)
Recovery: 2
Attack Pattern: N,S,E,W (like Knight)
Special: When moved into the range of enemie's lightning ward, ward automatically fires (similar to a lightning rod effect) striking unit. Ward must wait full recovery to fire again.

The armor moves into range of the lightning ward, and the ward fires. Does the ward fire during your turn as a reaction to the armor's movement (like blocking), or does the ward automatically fire on its next turn, taking up that turn?
Also, if the armor triggers the ward and then sits there (it'd have like 2 or 3 HP, no more), allowing the ward to recover, does the ward have to fire again automatically when it recovers, or does the armor moving in range trigger the ward?

To answer your questions:
1. My though was that the lightning ward would fire on your turn (not the enemy's turn) because that, combined with stealing one of your opponets turn would make it to powerful I think.
2. I think simply by having the armor in the range of the lightning ward, it would be forced to fire... so to answer your question yeah, leaving the armor there would do the same thing and you wouldn't be required to move the armor to "draw the lightning's attack".

While it's a very interesting idea, it seems a bit too limited. I mean, if your opponent doesn't have a Lightning Ward in play, it's just a really weak unit. However, maybe a unit that would attract any attack would be more useful?
For example:
Taunting Elf
Hit Points: 50
Power: 0
Armor: 0%
Blocking: 0%
Movement: 2
Recovery: 2
Attack Pattern: N,S,E,W (like Knight)
Special: Whenever an enemy unit tries to attack, and it can hit Taunting Elf, it must hit Taunting Elf (the Taunting Elf must be in the area of effect, but the opponent can choose any AoE that will include it).
Eh? Eh? Quite useful against Scouts and other ranged units, still mildly useful against melee goobers (with the exception of Assassins). It would require careful strategy and planning to use properly.
Or is it too different from your original idea?

Its a bit different from my orginial idea... but I like it :)
Its more flexable than something with heavy armor to combat lightning wards... it kind of reminds me of a "joke" unit I posted:
Fly
Hit Points: 5
Power: 0
Armor: 0%
Blocking: 90% all sides
Movement Range: 5 (and teleportation)
Recovery: 1
Attack Pattern: Any surrounding square, NSEW and diagonal
Attack: Annoys a uint causing them to attack the square the fly is in (if they can) and therefore using an attack turn (and having to recover). Can also damage enemy/friendly units with their attack (such as the attack of the DMW or Pyro).
Special: Can not attack contraptions.
